21일 포항시에 따르면 시는 신규사업 58건 805억 원 계속사업 157건 1조 3,302억 원을 확보했고, 영일만대교 건설을 위한 설계 및 공사비 1,350억 원도 정부안에 반영됐다.
특히 이강덕 시장의 노력으로 정부의 R&D 예산은 대폭 삭감됐지만, 포항시는 오히려 전년 대비 예산이 증가하는 쾌거를 이뤘다.
주목해야 할 점으로 역점적으로 추진하는 3대 신산업의 한축인 이차전지 분야는 지난 7월 국가첨단전략산업 특화단지 지정과 함께 3건의 신규사업이 반영되면서 이차전지 초격차 확보와 전지 보국을 향한 발판이 마련됐다.
수소연료전지 발전클러스터 사업도 올해 예타를 통과했고, 2024년부터 포스코와 블루밸리 산단을 잇는 배관망 구축에 들어가게 됨에 따라 수소경제 선도 도시로 경쟁력을 갖추게 됐다.

R&D 분야는 58건 4,370억 원으로 △바이오미래기술 혁신연구지원센터 IRC 지원사업 41억 원 △철강.금속 디지털전환(DX)실증센터 구축 28억 원 △4세대 방사광가속기 빔라인 증설 20억 원 △동물용의약품 그린바이오 파운드리 생산공정 고도화 사업 25억 원 등이다.
문화·환경·복지 분야는 56건 1,910억 원으로 △영일만 산업단지 공업용수 공급사업 154억 원 △영일만산업단지(4산단) 완충저류시설 설치 2억 원 △노후상수도관망 정비사업(24년 신규) 35억 원 △하수도 중점관리지역 정비 15억 원 등이다
농림.수산 분야는 53건 800억 원으로 △양포항 정비사업 5억 원 △수산자원 조성사업 지원(민간협력) 7억 원 △포항 스마트양식 클러스터 조성사업 45억 원 △과실전문생산단지 기반조성사업 8억 원 등이다.
그밖에 기타 분야로는 10건 357억 원으로 △읍면동 LPG배관망 구축사업 14억 원 △지하시설물 정보갱신 사업 4억 원 △도시생활 환경개선 사업 6건 35억 원 등이다.
포항시는 정부예산에서 SOC 분야가 차지하는 비율이 높은 만큼 내년부터는 SOC 분야 신규사업 발굴에 매진하는 한편 신성장 산업의 가시적인 성과도출을 위해 전행정력을 집중한다는 방침이다.
