목조 건축물인 전통사찰은 깊은 산중에 위치하고 있어 화재 발생 시 소방차 진입이 어렵고 대형 산불로 번질 우려가 있어 초기대응이 매우 중요한 곳이다.
이러한 위험 요소를 사전에 예방하고 신속한 초기 대응능력 강화를 위해 공단과 경주소방서는 사찰내 소방설비 지원과 함께 사찰 관계자들을 대상으로 화재예방 안전 교육도 함께 실시했다.
공단은 지난 2020년부터 매년 경주지역 관내 화재취약지역을 대상으로 소방설비 지원사업을 전개하고 있다.
조성돈 이사장은 “화재발생 안전 사각지대에 해소 등 지역사회 안전문화 확산에 더욱 힘 쓰겠다.”고 말했다.
