【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=주낙영 경주시장은 최근 국립공원 토함산지구 곳곳에 산사태 발생 언론보도와 피해 신고가 잇따라 접수됨에 따라 11일 여름철 우기를 맞아 토함산 일대 산사태 피해 발생을 최소화하기 위해 위험지역 시찰에 나섰다.

이날 주낙영 시장과 관계 공무원들은 헬기를 타고 한 시간 가량 2022년 9월 태풍 힌남노 내습시부터 현재까지 발생한 산사태 현장을 두루 살피며 복구 상황 등을 점검하고 실무자들의 의견을 청취했다.
주 시장은 “안전사고 예방에 철저를 기하면서 복구 작업을 신속하게 추진해 달라”며 “산사태 취약지역에 대한 비상연락망도 다시 한 번 점검해 산사태 피해 예방을 위해 최선을 다 해주길 바란다”고 말했다.
이어 “어디에서나 산사태 위험지역이 될 수 있는 만큼 안전의식을 갖고 유사시 대피 안내에 따라 지정된 안전지역으로 신속히 대피하는 등 적극적인 시민들의 협조도 부탁 드린다”고 당부했다.
시는 이번 현장 점검을 토대로 이달 말까지 석굴암 석굴 주변 긴급정비 공사를 비롯해 마동, 범곡리 주변 계곡부 및 토사정리를 진행한다.
외동 신계와 범곡리, 불국로에는 사방댐 준설도 실시하는 등 산사태 구조적 대책에 행정력을 집중한다.
또 산사태 주변 거주하는 주민을 대상으로 산사태 국민행동요령 홍보물을 배포하고 무선마을방송 가정용 수신기를 보급할 예정이다.
더불어 산사태 대책 상황실을 운영해 산사태 위기 경보 발령 시 지역 산사태 상황을 24시간 실시간 모니터링하며, 위험징후 발견 시 즉각적인 조치와 주민 사전대피 등으로 피해를 최소화할 방침이다.
한편 경주시는 지난달 16~17일 산림청, 국가유산청, 국립공원관리공단, 경주국립공원사무소 등과 합동점검 가졌다.
이에 지난달 30일 문무대왕면 범곡리 일원 비상연락망을 구축하고 산사태 재난 대피 훈련과 찾아가는 산사태 피해 예방 교육을 시행했다.
