[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시 대동면 수안마을 주민들이 조성한 수안수국 정원축제가 21~23일 열린다.
대동면 수안마을은 창조적 마을만들기사업과 생기발랄한 가야뜰 마을만들기사업으로 조성한 소등껄 수국정원과 라벤더 언덕을 중심으로 2018년부터 주민 주도로 수안수국 정원축제를 개최하고 있다.
축제 기간 수국정원의 수십 종 수국이 절정에 달해 수국 군락을 배경으로 한 포토존이 마련된다.
또 대나무 숲길, 마을 장터, 체험, 공연 등 다채로운 볼거리와 먹거리를 즐길 수 있다.
수국정원 축제장은 45년간 버려진 동네 쓰레기장을 2015년부터 쓰레기 없애기 운동을 벌여 2018년 이곳에서 제1회 수안수국 정원축제를 열었다.
당시 148명이 사는 작은 시골마을 첫 축제에 사흘 동안 방문객 5,000여명이 찾았고, 작년에는 1만명으로 늘었다.
김종건 수안수국 정원축제 추진위원장은 “매년 주민 힘으로 축제를 열기 위해 정원을 관리하고 준비하면서 마을공동체가 활성화되고, 좋은 마을 사례가 되고 있어 힘이 난다"고 말했다.
