말과 글이 바른 세상을 위해 세종시 어머니들이 계몽 운동을 펼친다.
사단법인 대한어머니회 세종시지회는 7월 22일 <우리들의 바른글씨> 수업의 문을 열었다.
지난 5월 세종대왕 탄신일부터 시작하여 10월 한글날까지 달리는 6개월 동안의 어머니들 글씨쓰기 행사이다.
세종시 대한어머니회 최현주 회장은 “세종 탄신일이나 한글날만 반짝하는 행사가 아닌
연중 지속 가능한 행사로 기획을 해 보았다. 컴퓨터 핸드폰 등 전자기기 사용이 늘면서 글씨뿐만 아니라 맞춤법, 띄어쓰기 등에서 실로 문제가 많다. 빨리빨리 문화가 글자에도 적용된 것인지 빨리 쓰다 보니 더 삐뚤어지고 철자도 많이 틀린다. 철자가 틀리면 의미도 달라진다. 아이들의 말과 글이 맑고 바르면 좋겠다. 아이들한테는 늘 어머니의 영향이 크다. 우리 어머니들부터 바른 글씨를 쓰는 활동이 필요하다.”

세종대왕의 이름을 따서 생겨난 도시, 세종시 시민으로서 단체로서 세종시 대한어머니회는 <우리들의 바른글씨>라는 이름으로, 어머니들이 모여 한글을 바르게 예쁘게 쓰자는 계몽 운동으로 시작되었다. 이에 동참하는 어머니들은 향후 <우리들의 바른글씨 지도사>로서도 성장할 수 있다고 한다. 특별히 세종시에서는 처음으로 “훈민정음 서문 따라 쓰기” 교육이 이루어지며, 우리들의 바른글씨 지도사가 되려면 세종대왕과 훈민정음에 대한 지식 훈련도 받는다.
사단법인 대한어머니회 세종시지회는 지난 2023년 10월 9일 577돌 한글날 행사에서 강순예 작사 전영준 작곡 <훈민정음 서문가>를 어머니들이 함께 부르는 노래로 선보여 높은 호응을 받은 바 있다.
<우리들의 바른글씨>는 최민호 세종시장의 아내 전광희 여사도 함께 한다. 사단법인 대한어머니회는 1958년 설립된 대한민국 최초의 여성단체이며 65주년이 된 역사가 가장 오래된 교육 계몽단체이다.
