세종시의회는 12일 최근 문을 연 '세종권역 장애인구강진료센터'를 방문해 운영 현황을 점검했다.
이날 방문은 세종권역 장애인구강진료센터 조성 현황 보고 및 청취, 질의·답변, 진료센터 공간 내부 현장 방문 순으로 이어졌다.
방문에는 김영현 의회운영위원장, 김현미 행정복지위원장 등 시의원 7명과 보건소 관계 공무원, 구강진료센터장 등이 참여했다.
단국대학교 치과대학 세종치과병원 1층에 자리 잡은 '세종권역 장애인구강진료센터'는 642.37㎡의 규모에 전신마취수술실, 회복실, 진료실, 모니터링실, 상담실 등이 갖춰져 있다.
제2구역에는 방사선촬영실, 교수연구실, 시청각교육실, 사회복지상담실 등이 설치됐다.
이 자리에서 김현미 행정복지위원장은 “많은 장애인이 치과 진료에 어려움을 느끼고 있는 현실 속에서 양질의 치과의료 서비스를 제공할 수 있게 됐다" 며 "장애인 치과 의료서비스의 접근성과 전문성을 더욱 높이기 위해서는 적극적인 홍보, 편의시설확충, 우수 의료진 영입 등 추가적인 노력을 해달라”고 당부했다.
한편, 세종권역 장애인구강진료센터는 치과 치료가 필요한 중증 장애인 및 장애인에 준하는 환자(치매, 파킨슨병, 중중근무력증환자 등)의 경우 전신마취 치과 진료를 실시한다. 또 치과 진료 장애인 비급여진료비 중 일부 감면을 지원하며 장애 특성에 맞는 구강관리사업(구강관리 및 교육 등)도 추진할 것으로 알려졌다.
