유진그룹의 모회사인 유진기업이 레미콘 업계의 안전한 근무환경 정착을 위해 공을 들이고 있는 가운데 김진용 유진기업 부장이 산업재해 예방에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 석탑산업훈장을 받아 업계의 주목을 끌고 있다.
유진기업은 김진용 부장이 레미콘 업계 안전보건 관리체계 개선 및 안전의식 제고에 적극 기여한 공로로 석탑산업훈장을 수상했다고 8월 20일 밝혔다.
8월 19일, 고용노동부가 주관한 ‘2024 산업재해 예방 유공 포상 전수식’에는 이정식 고용노동부 장관과 한국산업안전보건공단 관계자를 비롯한 산재예방 유공자 18명(훈장 3명, 포장 3명, 대통령표창 5명, 국무총리 표창 7명)이 참석했다.
유진기업에 따르면 김 부장은 이날 30년 넘게 레미콘 업계에 몸담으며 안전개선팀장으로서 자사 및 업계 산업재해 예방에 힘써온 공로를 인정받아 석탑산업훈장 수상의 영예를 안았다. 김 부장은 전국 29개 사업장의 분기별 안전보건 현황을 점검하며 유진기업의 안전보건 관리체계를 구축하는 한편, 실질적 안전문화의 정착과 레미콘 업계와의 공생을 위해 노력한 점이 높은 평가를 받았다.
유진기업 안전개선팀은 지난해 3월부터 사업장별 위험성평가 내부메신저 채널을 운영하며, 실시간 안전보건 정보 및 개선안을 공유하는 등 산재예방을 위한 선순환 구조를 구축했다. 또 사업장 스스로 유해 및 위험요인 점검능력을 갖출 수 있도록 꾸준한 전문안전교육 및 사내 공모전을 실시하며 임직원의 안전의식 제고와 실천적 안전문화를 정착시켰다.
유진기업은 안전개선팀을 필두로 지속적이고 창의적인 안전재해 예방활동을 펼쳐왔고 관련 부처도 그 노고를 인정했다.
이에 따라 지난해 7월 ‘2023 인천 산업안전보건의 달’ 기념식에서 위험성평가 우수사업장으로 선정되어 고용노동부중부청장 표창을 수상했다. 또 12월 안전보건공단 서울남부지사에서 열린 ‘위험성평가 및 안전보건관리체계 우수사례 발표대회’에서는 고용노동부 장관상을 수상한 바 있다.
유진기업은 자사를 넘어 업계 전반의 안전한 근로환경 조성을 위한 노력도 아끼지 않았다. 지난 2023년부터 ▲안전보건관리체계 구축 매뉴얼 ▲안전보건 점검 가이드 ▲위험성평가 따라잡기 등 안전보건 관련 책자를 동종 레미콘 업계 및 소규모 사업장을 위해 제작·배포하며 업계와의 공생가치 적극 실현한 바 있다.
김진용 부장은 “99.9%가 완성되어도 0.1%의 빈틈으로 흔들릴 수 있는 것이 안전”이라며, “개인의 안전이 가정과 조직의 안전이란 생각으로 앞으로도 안전한 근무환경 정착을 위해 산업재해 예방 활동에 심혈을 기울일 것”이라는 수상소감을 전했다.

While Yujin Corporation, the parent company of Yujin Group, has been making efforts to establish a safe working environment in the ready-mixed concrete industry, Mr. Kim Jin-yong, a department head of Yujin Corporation, has been recognized for his contributions to preventing industrial accidents and has received the Medal of the Seoktap Industry.
On August 20, Eugene Corporation announced that Kim Jin-yong was awarded the Seoktop Industrial Medal for his active contributions to improving the safety and health management system and raising safety awareness in the ready-mixed concrete industry.
On Aug. 19, the “2024 Industrial Accident Prevention Merit Award Handover Ceremony,” hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, was attended by 18 industrial accident prevention meritors (3 medals, 3 packages, 5 presidential citations, and 7 prime ministerial citations), including Minister of Employment and Labor Lee Jung-sik and officials from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency.
According to Yujin, Kim was honored with the Order of the Seoktap Industry Medal for his more than 30 years of service in the ready-mixed concrete industry and his efforts to prevent occupational accidents at the company and in the industry as head of the safety improvement team. Kim was highly praised for his efforts to establish a safety and health management system for Yujin Enterprises by checking the safety and health status of 29 plants nationwide on a quarterly basis, and for his efforts to establish a practical safety culture and symbiosis with the ready-mixed concrete industry.
Since March last year, Yujin's Safety Improvement Team has operated an internal messenger channel for risk assessment by workplace, sharing real-time safety and health information and improvement plans to establish a virtuous cycle for preventing industrial accidents. In addition, the team has continued to conduct professional safety training and internal competitions to equip workplaces with the ability to inspect harmful and dangerous factors, raising employees' safety awareness and establishing a practical safety culture.
Yujin Enterprises has been conducting continuous and creative safety disaster prevention activities led by the Safety Improvement Team, and related ministries have recognized its efforts.
In July last year, the company was selected as an excellent workplace for risk assessment at the '2023 Incheon Occupational Safety and Health Month' ceremony and received a commendation from the Central Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor. In December, the company also won the Minister of Employment and Labor Award at the 'Best Practice Presentation Contest for Risk Assessment and Safety and Health Management System' held at the Seoul South Branch of the OSHA.
Yujin has also spared no effort to create a safe working environment for the entire industry beyond its own company. Since 2023, the company has produced and distributed safety and health-related booklets such as ▲Safety and Health Management System Construction Manual ▲Safety and Health Inspection Guide ▲Catching Up on Risk Assessment for the same ready-mixed concrete industry and small businesses, actively realizing the value of symbiosis with the industry.
“Safety is something that can be shaken by a gap of 0.1% even if 99.9% is completed,” said Kim Jin-yong, the department head, ”and we will continue to focus on industrial accident prevention activities to settle a safe working environment with the idea that individual safety is the safety of the home and organization.”
