체코를 공식 방문한 윤석열 대통령이 19일(현지시간) 페트르 파벨 체코 대통령과의 정상회담에서 "(양 정상은) 유엔안보리 결의를 위반하는 러·북 불법 군사협력이 국제 평화·안보에 대한 중대 위협임을 재확인했다"고 밝혔다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오후 체코 대통령 집무실이 있는 프라하성에서 열린 한·체코 정상회담 후 공동기자회견에서 "(양 정상은) 북한이 평화·안정을 해치는 무모하고 비상식적 도발을 통해선 얻을 수 있는 게 아무것도 없다"며 이같이 말했다.
양 정상은 이번 회담에서 양국 간 상호 전략적 동반자 관계를 더욱 미래지향적이고 호혜적 관계로 확대 발전시키자는 데 뜻을 모았다.
윤 대통령은 "양국은 내년 수교 35주년과 전략적 동반자 관계 수립 10주년을 맞아 정치·경제·문화·과학기술·외교·안보·국방·방산같은 제반 분야 협력을 전면 강화해 나가기로 했다"며 "특히 지난 7월 한국수력원자력이 우선협상대상자로 선정된 두코바니 신규 원전 건설사업 계기로 첨단산업 육성·에너지 안보 확보·기후위기 대응을 위한 전략적 공조를 확대해 나가기로 했다"고 전했다.
그러면서 "양국 기업들이 함께 건설할 두코바니 신규 원전이 한·체코 경제 동반 발전과 에너지 협력 이정표로서 양국 전략적 파트너십을 강화하는 중요 계기가 될 것"이라며 "내년 최종 계약 체결까지 남은 절차가 순조롭게 진행될 수 있도록 우리 정부도 관심갖고 세심하게 챙기겠다"고 밝혔다.
또 "양국은 원전과 더불어 앞으로 바이오·디지털·교통 인프라 분야에서도 구체적 협력 방안을 함께 모색해 나가기로 했다"며 "제조업 중심 협력을 넘어 첨단기술·응용과학을 바탕으로 하는 미래동반성장 기반을 함께 구축해 나가기로 했다"고 밝혔다.
이어 "파벨 대통령과 인도·태평양 지역 안보와 유럽 안보가 불가분 관계에 있다는 데 의견을 같이하고 핵심 가치를 공유하는 대한민국과 체코가 국제무대서 서로에게 도움줄 수 있는 최적 파트너라는 데 공감했다"고 전했다.
