세종시의회은 2일 연기면 연기리 고구마 농가를 찾아 농촌 일손돕기에 나섰다.

이날 세종시의회 의원들과 사무처 직원 등 30여명은 일손이 부족한 고구마 농가에서 작은 도움이지만 구슬땀을 흘리며 고구마 수확에 힘을 보탰다.

이를 통해 지역 농민들의 어려움과 농업의 소중함을 깊이 체감하고, 농가와 직접소통하며 지역사회와 함께하는 의회의 역할에 대해 다시 한번 되새기는 기회가 됐다.

임채성 의장은 "농촌일손돕기는 우리 지역사회와 농촌이 함께 성장하고 상생할 수 있는 중요한 경험이다.“라며, “우리 의회는 농업인의 수고를 존중하고 세종시가 농촌과 함께 발전할 수 있도록 의회 차원에서 지속적인 관심과 지원을 아끼지 않겠다."라고 말했다.
