[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 이현준기자] 김진경 경기도의회 의장은 화성시 소재 ‘육군 제51보병사단’을 방문했다.
김 의장은 이날 (재)경기수원월드컵경기장관리재단 이민주 사무총장, KB국민은행 경기지역그룹 김진삼 부행장 등 타 기관 관계자들과 육군 제51보병사단 류승민 사단장, 권오훈 방첩대장 등 부대 관계자들이 7일 함께했다.
이번 방문은 최근 북한의 연이은 도발에 대응하며 헌신하는 장병들에게 감사를 전하기 위해 추진됐다.
또한, 국군의 날(10월 1일)을 기념해 지역 방위를 위해 힘쓰는 군인들의 헌신을 지지하고, 사회적 관심을 높이기 위한 취지로 진행됐다.
김 의장은 “최근 남북 간 긴장이 고조된 상황에서도 1,410만 경기도민이 평온한 일상을 유지할 수 있는 것은 경기도와 수도권의 안전을 지키는 장병 여러분 덕분”이라며 “경기도의회는 여러분의 용기와 헌신을 항상 응원하며, 앞으로도 지속적으로 관심 갖겠다”라고 말했다.
한편, 육군 제51보병사단은 경기도 서남지역의 방위와 해안 경계, 예비군 교육 및 훈련을 담당하는 군부대다.
