[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 이상일 용인특례시장은 16일 오후 처인구 삼가초(교장 강미경)를 방문해 시에서 조치한 정문 앞 도로 개선 사항을 살펴봤다.
16일 시에 따르면 이번 개선 사항은 지난 9월 24일 학부모 간담회에서 삼가초 학부모 대표가 학교 안으로 대형버스 진출입이 가능하도록 도로 환경을 개선해 달라는 요청에 따른 것이다.
시는 바로 현장을 확인한 후 정문 앞의 신호등을 옆으로 옮기고 그 자리에 이동할 수 있는 볼라드를 설치해 대형버스 진출입이 쉽도록 조치했다.
이상일 시장은 학교 관계자, 학부모들과 함께 11일 공사를 끝낸 학교 정문 안팎을 살피고 정문에서부터 운동장까지의 버스길 동선을 점검했다.
박윤희 삼가초 학부모 대표는 “학교 안으로 버스 진입이 어려워 학생들이 버스를 타기 위해서는 도로변을 한참 걸어 내려가 불편하고 위험했다”며 “시장님과 시 관계자들이 신속하게 문제를 해결해 감사하다”고 말했다.
이 시장은 “학생들의 통학 안전을 위해 시가 나름대로 최선을 다하고 있다”며 “지난해 이어 올해도 초중고 교장선생님, 학부모회장님들과 간담회를 계속하고 있는 것도 교육 현장의 불편을 최대한 해결하기 위한 것”이라고 했다.
이 시장이 강 교장, 학부모들과 교장실에서 간담회를 마치고 나오는 길에 이 시장을 발견한 학생들은 환호를 보내며 사진 촬영을 요청했고, 이 시장은 흔쾌히 응하며 학생들을 격려했다.
