한국타이어, ‘어린이보호구역에 차량용 방호울타리’ 기탁

한국앤컴퍼니그룹의 글로벌 선도 타이어 기업 한국타이어앤테크놀로지㈜(이하 한국타이어)는 지난 17일 오후 대전시 대덕구 석봉동 새여울초등학교에서 최충규 대덕구청장, 이준길 한국타이어 대전공장장 등이 참석한 가운데 어린이보호구역 차량용 방호울타리 기탁식을 가졌다.

앞서 한국타이어는 대전공장 인근 지역인 대전시 대덕구 석봉동 새여울초등학교 어린이보호구역에 어린이 등하굣길 안전 강화를 위해 총 8,000여만 원의 사업비를 들여 개정된 도로교통법에 맞춰 보강된 차량용 방호울타리를 설치했다.

이번에 설치된 차량용 방호울타리는 SB1등급으로, 8톤 차량이 시속 55km로 속도로 달려와 부딪혔을 때 방호 가능한 수준이다.

이준길 한국타이어 대전공장장은 “지역 어린이들의 등하굣길 교통안전에 조금이나마 보탬이 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 지역 주민들의 니즈가 반영된 다양한 나눔 활동을 지속 펼쳐 나갈 예정”이라고 말했다.

한편, 한국타이어는 지난 11월 대전시 대덕구 목상동 주민공동시설 개소, 대전시 대덕구 신탄진동 복지만두레방 리모델링 지원 등 지역 주민들과 동반 성장을 위한 다양한 지역 밀착형 사회공헌활동을 진행해 오고 있다.
