농심켈로그는 설 명절을 앞두고 강북구 소외계층과 결식 우려 아동을 위해 약 13만 인분의 시리얼을 기부했다고 21일 밝혔다. 이번 나눔은 5년째 이어지는 활동으로, 지역 내 취약계층이 따뜻한 설 명절을 보낼 수 있도록 기획되었다.
기부된 시리얼은 ‘첵스초코 매직 팝핑볼’과 ‘리얼그래놀라 크런치 오트’ 등으로, 강북구 내 주민센터 및 복지관 5개소를 통해 전달될 예정이다. 이번 활동은 서울시와 사회복지공동모금회가 주관하는 ‘희망온돌 따뜻한 겨울나기’ 사업의 일환으로 진행되었다.
농심켈로그 대외협력팀 김희연 부장은 "매년 설 명절마다 따뜻한 나눔을 실천하고 있다"며 "앞으로도 지역사회의 어려운 이웃들에게 실질적인 도움을 제공하겠다"고 전했다.
농심켈로그는 지난해 약 165만 인분의 식품을 기부했으며, 지난 8년간 누적 기부 수량이 700만 인분을 넘어서는 등 지속적인 사회공헌 활동을 통해 지역사회의 건강과 행복 증진에 기여하고 있다.
Nongshim Kellogg donates food to the underprivileged in Gangbuk-gu for Lunar New Year for 5th consecutive year
Nongshim Kellogg announced today that it donated about 130,000 servings of cereal to the underprivileged and children at risk of hunger in Gangbuk-gu ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. This is the fifth consecutive year that Nongshim Kellogg has donated cereal to the underprivileged in Gangbuk-gu to help them have a warm holiday.
The donated cereals, which include 'Chex Chocolate Magic Popping Balls' and 'Real Granola Crunch Oats,' will be delivered through five resident centers and welfare centers in Gangbuk-gu. The activity is part of the 'Hope Ondol Warm Winter' project organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Social Welfare Foundation.
“We practice warm sharing every year during the Lunar New Year holidays,” said Kim Hee-yeon, head of the external affairs team at Nongshim Kellogg. ”We will continue to provide practical help to those in need in the local community.”
Last year, Nongshim Kellogg donated about 1.65 million servings of food, and over the past eight years, the total number of donations has exceeded 7 million servings, contributing to the health and happiness of local communities through continuous social contribution activities.
