세종시가 라오스 루앙프라방주의 창업생태계 구축을 적극 지원하고 나섰다.
최민호 시장은 11일 라오스 대표단과의 면담에서 창업 공적개발원조(ODA) 사업의 성공적인 추진을 위한 협력 방안을 논의했다.
특히 양 지역 간 협력을 확대하기 위한 우호협력의향서(LOI) 체결에 합의하며 향후 협력 확대를 위한 토대를 쌓았다.
라오스 대표단은 루앙프라방시 빌라이쏭 매니본(Mr. Vilaythong MANIVONE)) 부시장을 단장으로 수파누봉대학교 총장 등 교직원과 주정부 공무원, 기업인 등 총 16명으로 구성됐다.
이들은 11일부터 오는 18일까지 7박 8일간 시가 제공하는 창업생태계 조성 관련 연수 프로그램에 참여하게 된다.
이번 연수는 지난해 9월 선정된 한국국제협력단(KOICA) 공공협력사업 트랙1 ‘라오스 창업 정책컨설팅 사업’의 일환으로 추진된다.
연수 프로그램은 초청강연을 통한 정책 학습 ,기관 방문 등 현장 학습 ,세미나·워크숍 등으로 구성됐다.
정책 학습에서는 대한민국과 세종시의 창업지원제도, 창업 기반시설 구축 사례, 창업생태계 조성 전략 등을 소개할 예정이다.
또 세종테크노파크, 창업진흥원, 창조경제혁신센터 등 창업 관련 주요 기관을 방문해 창업지원 체계와 성공 사례를 공유한다.
아울러 창업지원 프로그램을 운영 중인 세종시 소재 고려대·홍익대·영상대 등 3개 대학과의 협력 방안도 함께 논의할 계획이다.
강연에 이어 열리는 워크숍을 통해서는 대표단 스스로 세종시의 창업지원 모델을 분석해 보고 라오스의 창업환경 개선을 위한 맞춤형 전략을 도출하는 의미 있는 시간을 가질 예정이다.
시는 이번 연수를 계기로 라오스의 창업생태계 조성뿐 아니라 문화·경제 등 다양한 분야에서 협력을 확대해 나간다는 계획이다.
최 시장은 “라오스 대표단의 방문은 앞으로 시와 라오스 간 진행될 다각적이고 활발한 협력 사업의 중요한 마중물이 되리라 믿는다”며 “향후 창업 분야 외에도 한글문화 등 한국의 우수한 문화유산이 라오스에 전파되고 친(親)세종 친(親)한글 인사를 양성하는 사업까지 확대되기를 희망한다”고 말했다.
한편 세종시는 지난해부터 한남대와 함께 ‘라오스 경쟁우위 상품의 스마트화 및 소호(SOHO) 창업 활성화 정책컨설팅’ 사업을 수행 중이다.
이 사업을 통해 라오스에 맞는 중장기 로드맵 수립 ,초청연수 ,현지교육·컨설팅을 제공하는 등 라오스의 창업역량 강화를 위해 꾸준히 지원하고 장기적인 협력 체계를 구축해 나갈 예정이다.

Meanwhile, Sejong City has been carrying out the ‘Smartening of Laos’ Competitive Advantage Products and Activation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SOHO) Startups’ project with Hannam University since last year.
