브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 25일 경기 안성과 충남 천안 경계에서 발생한 서울-세종고속도로 9공구 교량 붕괴사고와 관련, 주관 시공사인 현대엔지니어링이 사과 입장을 발표했다.
현대엔지니어링은 이날 "당사 시공현장의 인명사고로 소중한 생명을 잃고 부상을 입은 분들께 진심으로 머리 숙여 사과드린다"고 밝혔다.
이어 "현재 조속한 현장 수습과 정확한 사고원인 규명을 위해 관계기관에 적극 협조하고 있다"며 "모든 노력과 필요한 조치를 다하겠다"고 말했다.
이날 오전 9시49분께 충남 천안의 서북구 입장면 도림리 54의 4 일대 서울-세종고속도로 9공구에서는 교량 작업 중 교각 위 슬라브 상판 구조물이 붕괴되는 사고가 발생했다.
이 사고로 작업자 10명이 추락 후 매몰됐다. 오후 1시 기준 사망자는 3명, 중상 5명·경상 1명 등 총 9명의 사상자가 발생했다.
10명 중 1명은 아직 찾지 못해 구조작업이 진행 중이다.
사상자 중 8명은 한국인, 2명은 중국인이며 중국인 작업자 중 1명은 사망했다.
사고가 난 공사 현장은 한국도로공사가 발주한 서울-세종고속도로 천안안성 9공구로, 현장 담당 시공사는 현대엔지니어링, 호반산업, 범양건영 컨소시엄이 공사 중인 곳이다. 주관사는 현대엔지니어링이며 담당 하도급사는 장헌산업이다.
이번 사고는 교량 연결 공사 작업 중 교량을 떠받치던 철제 빔 구조물이 무너져 내리면서 발생한 것으로 추정된다.
이와 관련 소방당국 관계자는 "현장소장에 따르면 파란색 런처를 이용해서 교각 위에 상판을 거치하는 작업 중 하행선 작업을 위해 우측으로 넘어가는 과정에서 사고가 발생한 것으로 보인다"고 설명했다.
