지난 2월24일 저녁 시간, 김대중 전 대통령의 '동교동계 비서'-'영원한 김대중의 비서'인 권노갑 고문(민주당 상임고문)과 저녁을 함께 했다. 필자가 기자로서 동교동을 드나들 때, 자주 뵈었던 분이다. 이 분과 3시간 여 저녁을 함께 하며, 느낀 게 있다.
필자는 김대중 전 대통령의 최다(最多) 인터뷰어 였다. 인터뷰를 가장 많이 한 기자였다는 말이다. 그 이유는 토요신문, 일요서울, 주간현대, 일간 펜(펜 그리고 자유), 인터넷 신문인 브레이크뉴스 등에서 편집국장-발행인을 지속적-장기간 재임했던, 그 덕분이었다. 당시 유력 정치인들은 편집국장-발행인과 인터뷰를 진행하는 게, 관행(慣行)이었다. 이 때문에 그런 영광의 기록을 갖게 됐었다.

권노갑 고문을 만나면서 사람 '인(人)'자라는 글자를 생각했다. 사람 인(人)자, 즉 한자로 '人' 자는 두 람이 서로 받쳐주고 있는 형상(形象)이다.
