[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 홍태용 김해시장은 27일 주촌면 김해추모의공원 일원에 조성 중인 공설 자연장지 조성사업의 현장 추진 상황을 점검했다.
홍 시장은 “대상지가 김해추모의공원과 인접해 화장 후 이용이 용이할 뿐만 아니라 추모의공원 기반시설을 그대로 이용할 수 있어 효율적”이라며 “올해 조성을 완료해 자연장지에 대한 인식 전환과 함께 전국적인 친환경 자연장지 확산에 기여할 것”이라고 말했다.
김해시는 친환경 장사문화에 대한 관심 증대 등 장사시설 수요 다변화 욕구에 대응하고 김해추모의공원 봉안당의 만장에 대비해 공설 자연장지를 조성하고 있다.
공설 자연장지 조성사업은 2018년 기본계획 수립을 시작으로 총사업비 29억원의 78%를 국·도비로 확보해 올해 준공을 목표로 추진하고 있다.
잔디장, 수목장, 산분장 등 총 1만5,000여구를 안치할 수 있는 2만9,527㎡ 규모이다.

On the 27th, Gimhae Mayor Hong Tae-yong inspected the progress of the public natural burial site construction project currently underway in the Gimhae Memorial Park area in Jucheon-myeon.
Mayor Hong said, “The site is adjacent to Gimhae Memorial Park, so it is not only easy to use after cremation, but also efficient because the Memorial Park’s infrastructure can be used as is,” adding, “We will complete the construction this year to contribute to changing the perception of natural burial sites and expanding eco-friendly natural burial sites nationwide.”
Gimhae City is creating a public natural burial site in response to the growing interest in eco-friendly burial culture and the diversifying demand for burial facilities, as well as in preparation for the full funeral at Gimhae Memorial Park’s Bongandang.
The public natural burial site construction project began with the establishment of a basic plan in 2018, and 78% of the total project cost of 2.9 billion won has been secured as national and provincial funds, with the goal of completion this year.
It is 29,527㎡ in size, with a total of 15,000 places that can be placed in a lawn, tree field, and mountain crematorium.
