(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 인천시가 25일, 미추홀도서관 명칭 개정과 관련한 사전절차로 시민의견 수렴을 진행한 결과, 참여 시민 5,104명 중 3,817명(74.8%)이 명칭 개정안인 ‘인천도서관’을 지지한 것으로 나타났다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면, 남동구에 위치한 미추홀도서관은 지역적 명칭 혼선으로 인한 시민불편이 지속되어 명칭 개정의 필요성이 제기됐다.
이에 미추홀도서관은 인천을 대표하는 도서관으로서 시민에게 쉽게 인식될 수 있도록 명확한 용어를 사용하고자 명칭 변경을 추진하게 됐다.
명칭 개정을 위한 시민의견 수렴은 도서관 누리집과 큐알(QR)코드를 통한 온라인 참여방식과 관내 공공·작은도서관 11개소에서 스티커를 부착하는 현장 참여방식으로 동시에 진행됐다.
2월 26일부터 3월 11일까지 진행한 시민의견 수렴에는 총 5,104명이 참여했으며, 그 결과 ‘인천도서관’으로의 변경에 3,817명(74.8%), ‘미추홀도서관’ 유지에는 1,287명(25.2%)이 찬성한 것으로 나타났다.
