충남 당진시가 오는 10일부터 13일까지 기지시줄다리기박물관과 기지시 마을 광장에서 ‘2025 기지시줄다리기축제’를 개최한다고 7일 밝혔다.
올해 축제는 유네스코 인류무형유산 대표목록에 등재된 줄다리기의 10주년을 기념해 베트남, 캄보디아, 필리핀 등 공동 등재국이 참여하는 특별 행사와 국제 학술행사, 주제공연 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 구성된다.
축제 첫날인 10일에는 오후 2시 기지시 마을의 당제를 시작으로 용왕제와 마을기원제가 이어지며, 저녁에는 지역 가수들의 공연이 펼쳐진다. 11일에는 국제 학술행사와 유아부 경연대회, 무형유산 공연이 열리며, 개막식에서는 기지시줄다리기 유래설화를 바탕으로 한 당진판타지 공연과 드론쇼가 관람객을 맞이한다.
셋째 날인 12일에는 시민 줄다리기대회와 세계 줄다리기 한마당, 인기가수 김다현의 풍류마당 공연이 개최된다. 마지막 날인 13일에는 시민 줄다리기대회 결승과 기지시줄다리기 본 행사가 진행되며, 이후 공군 블랙이글스의 에어쇼와 인기가수 김희재, 강민의 공연으로 축제의 대미를 장식할 예정이다.
이번 축제는 기지시 마을의 거리 축제와 체험, 빛의 정원 등 다양한 콘텐츠를 통해 관광객들이 주도적으로 참여할 수 있도록 하여, 세계적인 축제로의 도약을 목표로 하고 있다. 오성환 시장은 “이번 축제는 질적으로 다를 것”이라며 많은 관광객의 방문을 기대하고 있다.
