브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 김문수 고용노동부 장관이 대통령선거 출마를 위해 8일 사퇴한다.
고용부에 따르면 김문수 장관은 이날 오전 10시 국무회의 이후 대선 출마 의사를 밝힌 뒤, 이날 오후 3시 장관 퇴임식을 진행할 예정이다.
앞서 김 장관은 지난 5일 자유민주시민연합·대자연환경연합 등 김 장관을 지지하는 시민단체연합의 출마 선언 촉구 기자회견에서 "(대선 출마에) 욕심은 없지만 나라가 이렇게 가서는 안 된다"며 대선 출마를 시사하는 듯한 발언을 했다.
다만 그는 지난 4일까지도 "아직까지 결심을 내린 것이 없다. 여러가지로 깊이 고민 중"이라고 했으나, 이후 사퇴를 최종 조율한 것으로 알려졌다.
김문수 장관은 최근 여론조사에서 보수 진영 지지율 1위를 기록하면서 유력 대권주자로 이름이 오르내리고 있다.
