울릉군보건의료원(이하 보건의료원)은 급변하는 의료 환경 속에서도 군민들에게 질 높은 의료 서비스를 제공하기 위해 다각적인 노력을 기울이고 있다고 6일 밝혔다.
보건의료원은 지난해 1월부터 가정의학과 전문의를 초빙해 내과 진료 서비스를 강화하고 있다. 이를 통해 울릉 주민들의 건강 상태를 보다 체계적으로 관리하고, 예방 중심의 의료서비스 제공으로 군민들의 건강한 생활 습관 정착을 도왔다.
특히 복부초음파, 간초음파, 위내시경 등 건강검진 분야에서의 풍부한 임상 경험을 바탕으로 고위험군 만성질환의 조기 진단에 집중하고 있으며, 실제로 간암과 위암 등 중증 질환의 조기 발견 비율이 눈에 띄게 증가하는 성과를 거두고 있다.
최근에는 간암 조기진단 사례가 무려 7건이나 보고되며, 보건의료원에 대한 지역 주민들의 신뢰도도 높아지고 있다. 전문의가 내원 환자에게 신속하게 검사를 진행해 간암을 조기에 발견하고 치료를 시작할 수 있도록 하면서, 생명과 직결된 의료의 중요성을 다시 한 번 입증했다.
