(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천세종병원에서 묵묵히 봉사로 업무를 지원하는 숨은 천사들이 자랑스러운 표창을 받았다.
인천세종병원이 10일, 최근 병원 지하1층 비전홀에서 열린 ‘2025 상반기 우수 자원봉사자 표창식’에서 최영란·임경희 씨에게 표창을 수여했다고 밝혔다.
세종병원에 따르면, 이들은 병원 안내, 외래 진료실 안내, 에스컬레이터 위치 안내, 무인 수납기 안내 등 업무 지원을 수행하고 있으며 인천세종병원에서 누적 봉사 시간은 각각 500시간에 달한다.
최영란·임경희 씨 모두 과거부터 복지관 등 다양한 기관에서 봉사를 해왔다.
최영란 씨는 자녀가 고교에 진학하면서 여유시간이 더 생겨 인천세종병원 봉사를 선택했고, 임경희 씨는 인천세종병원 인근에 거주하다 이웃들로부터 병원 봉사자를 구한다는 소식을 들은 게 인연이 됐다.
최영란 씨는 “나의 작은 봉사가 특히 어르신 환자들에게 도움이 된다는 점에 감사함과 함께 보람을 느낀다”고 말했다.
임경희 씨는 “혼자 내원한 환자의 휠체어를 끌어드린 적이 있었는데 환자가 내 손을 꼭 잡으며 고맙다고 하더라. 나는 큰일을 도와드린 게 아니라 생각했는데 환자로부터 고맙다는 말을 들었을 때 큰 보람을 느낀다”고 말했다.
오병희 인천세종병원장은 “병원 곳곳에서 묵묵히 천사와 같은 도움을 주시는 봉사자들은 엄연히 우리 병원의 소중한 구성원”이라며 “많은 봉사자의 노고에 감사드리며, 앞으로도 함께 안전하고 편안한 병원을 만들어 가겠다”고 말했다.
