(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 17일, AI 디지털교과서 발행사와 협의를 통해 3~4월 미사용 구독료 감면에 최종 합의했다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 이는 AI 디지털교과서 가입 및 활용 초기 준비 기간 동안 현장에서 실제 사용이 어려웠던 상황을 반영한 조치다.
인천시교육청을 포함한 수도권 교육감협의회는 14세 미만 학생 위임 절차 등 실무 업무 처리 기간을 고려해 미사용 구독료 감면을 제안했고, 발행사는 이를 수용했다.
현재 AI 디지털교과서는 전면 도입에서 희망 도입으로 정책이 변경돼 희망하는 학교에만 보급되어 교과서 지위는 유지하고 있으나 교육자료로 전환해야 한다는 요구가 나오고 있다.

또한, 인천시교육청이 지난 16일 도성훈 인천교육감이 여름철 집중호우에 대비해 관내 학교 및 교육시설의 사전 점검과 안전관리 강화를 당부했다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 도 교육감은 “제주도 장마를 시작으로 19일부터 중부지방도 집중호우 영향에 들어간다”며 “기온이 높고 국지성 호우 가능성도 큰 만큼, 시설 피해 예방과 더불어 학생과 교직원의 건강과 안전에도 각별히 유의해 달라”고 말했다.
