이번 산불로 영덕군에서는 959동의 주택이 전소되고 총 1,277동의 주택이 피해를 입었다. 군은 지난 4월 7일부터 국민체육센터와 숙박업소 등에 이재민들을 긴급 입소시키고 숙박비와 급식비를 지원해왔다. 이후 이재민들의 안정적인 주거 확보를 위해 산불 피해 주택 철거 작업을 신속히 진행하고 5월 초부터 임시주택 설치에 착수해, 6월 18일 기준으로 영덕읍, 지품면, 축산면 일대에 총 788동의 임시주택을 마련했다.
임시주택은 전기, 가스, 가전제품과 기본 생활용품이 완비돼 이재민들이 생활에 불편함이 없도록 조성됐다. 현재까지 756가구 1,351명이 입주를 완료한 상황이다.

신설되는 TF팀은 팀장을 포함해 행정, 복지, 건축 등 분야별 전문 인력으로 구성되며, 2027년 6월까지 2년간 △임시주거시설 유지보수 △행정 지원 △민원 처리 △철거 및 복귀 지원 등 이재민 지원 전반을 담당한다.
영덕군은 이번 TF팀 신설을 통해 보다 체계적이고 전문적인 지원 시스템을 구축함으로써 피해 주민들의 조속한 일상 복귀를 적극 돕겠다는 방침이다. 김광열 영덕군수는 “단순히 주거를 제공하는 것을 넘어 이재민들의 심리적 안정과 일상 회복까지 책임 있게 지원할 것”이라며 “이후 조립주택 철거와 복귀 지원 등 모든 과정이 안정적으로 마무리될 때까지 최선을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.
