대전 서구의회, 제5대 청소년의회 출범

대전 서구의회(의장 조규식)가 21일 본회의장에서 ‘제5대 서구 청소년의회’의 출범을 알리는 발대식을 열고, 청소년 의정활동의 서막을 열었다.

서구 청소년의회는 관내 청소년들이 직접 지방의회 구조와 운영방식을 체험하고, 지역사회 이슈에 대해 토론하며 정책을 제안하는 자치활동 프로그램이다. 청소년의 민주시민 역량을 함양하고 지역에 대한 관심과 참여를 이끌어내기 위한 취지로 운영되고 있으며, 올해로 5기째를 맞았다.

이번 5대 청소년의회는 공개 모집을 통해 선발된 중·고등학생 23명이 의원으로 위촉돼 약 3개월간 활동하게 된다. 구성은 청소년 의장 1명, 남·녀 부의장 각 1명으로 이뤄지며, '교육문화, 복지환경, 안전교통' 등 3개 상임위원회 중심의 체계적인 구조를 갖췄다.
