합천군의 행정, 경제, 교육의 중심인 합천읍은 청년부터 고령자까지 모두가 행복한 도시 인프라 구축을 위해 정주 여건 개선이 활발히 이루어지고 있다.

이를 위해 용주면 월평리 일원에 41억 4천만 원의 사업비로 스마트팜 연계 귀농·귀촌단지를 조성하고, 과학영농종합시설의 배치로 용주면은 미래 농업혁신의 중심지로 부상하고 있다.

또한, 합천 관광의 랜드마크인 합천영상테마파크는 80억 원의 예산으로 확장조성하여 대한민국 영화 촬영 1번지의 명성을 이어갈 예정이다.
