[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 30년의 공직 생활을 마무리한 김광회 부산시 미래혁신부시장이 30일 오후 시청 대회의실에서 진행된 퇴임식에서 공직자로서의 마지막 발걸음을 내딛었다.
그는 그간의 발자취를 돌아보며 “부산의 기적(Busan’s Miracle)은 이제 우리의 의지로 실현해나가야 할 과제”라고 강조했다.
김 부시장은 “이 자리에 서니까 30년간 했던 게 정말 한눈에 스쳐 지나간다”라며 소회를 밝혔다. 그는 1990년대 초, 영상위원회 시절 부산록페스티벌(Rock Festival)을 기획한 경험을 언급하며 “당시 365일 중 단 하루, 설날만 출근하지 않았다. 왜 그렇게까지 했는지는 지금도 잘 모르겠다”고 회고했다.
부산의 전략 기획자, 30년을 설계하다

그는 “해결해야 할 장기 표류 과제가 산적해 있었고, 엑스포 유치, 인프라 구축 등 산더미 같은 일이 기다리고 있었다. 그런 상황에서 여야 상생협의체를 구성해 12개 장기 과제를 하나하나 해결해 나갔다”고 덧붙였다.
엑스포 실패에도 분명해진 도시의 방향
김 부시장은 부산 세계박람회 유치 실패에도 불구하고 그 과정이 도시의 방향성을 확립하는 계기가 됐다고 평가했다. “비록 엑스포 유치는 실패했지만, 부산이 나아가야 할 길은 더욱 분명해졌다"면서 "우리는 글로벌 허브도시(Global Hub City)의 비전을 세울 수 있었다”고 강조했다.

끝으로 그는 “'다시 태어나도 살고 싶은 시민 행복도시 부산'을 만드는 여정에 늘 함께 하겠다”며 박형준 시장과 동료 공직자들에게 큰 절로 깊은 감사의 인사를 전하며 마무리했다.
한편, 박형준 부산시장은 이날 퇴임하는 김광회 미래혁신부시장에게 깊은 감사와 격려를 전했다.
박 시장은 이날 격려사에서 “오늘 김광회 부시장을 떠나보내며 만감이 교차한다”며 “저와 김 부시장은 오랜 인연으로, 안상영 시장 시절 젊은 교수의 아이디어를 듣는 자리에 함께한 것을 시작으로, 청와대에서도 함께 일하며 그의 통찰력과 실행력을 높이 평가해왔다”고 말했다.
