지난 대선에서 이재명 정권의 출범을 위해 다수기표로 기여한 전남지역 유권자들이 이재명 정권의 초기 인사에 대해 비판적이다. 전남이 제외됐다는 것이다. 이에 대한 여론이 '부글부글'이다.
이와 관련, 박지원 의원은 지난 7월6일 인터넷 저널인 페이스북에 게재한 글에서 “대선 후 네번째 광주를 방문했습니다. 언론사 사장단 몇 분의 고견도 듣고 감사 말씀을 올렸습니다. 이재명 대통령의 당선에 기여하신 호남 유권자들께 감사드리며, 지금 출범 한 달처럼 대통령과 민주당이 흔들리지 않고 잘 하겠다고 말씀 올렸습니다”고 전제하고 “광주 전남 의원들의 입각과 국회 상임위원장 발탁이 없다는 지적에, 전남은 선수가 고루 분포되었지만 이미 장관 상임위원장을 역임, 광주는 여덟 의원 중 민형배 의원만 재선, 나머지는 초선으로 기회가 있을 것, 특히 임기 1835일 중 겨우 35일, 60개월 중 한 달, 5년 중 1년도 안되었으니 기다려 보자고 설명했습니다. 시 도민께서도 변화도 좋지만, 우수한 의원은 다선이 되도록 인물을 키워달라고 부탁도 드렸습니다”고 전했다.
