(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 인천시립박물관 분관 한국이민사박물관이 17일, 초등학생을 동반한 가족 대상으로 신규 주말 교육프로그램 ‘알로하(안녕), 하와이’를 운영한다고 밝혔다.
한국이민사박물관에 따르면, 이번 교육에서는 1902년부터 하와이로 떠난 이민자들의 삶과, 고국을 그리워하며 돌아오지 못한 채 살아야 했던 이들의 이민 역사와 독립운동사를 엿보고자 한다.
‘알로하’는 하와이 인사말로 ‘안녕’을 뜻하며, 동시에 사랑, 평화, 연민, 이별 등 다양한 감정을 담고 있는 문화적·영적 의미의 말이다.
이번 교육은 이러한 ‘알로하’의 의미를 바탕으로, 하와이로 떠나며 가족과 헤어져야 했던 이민자들의 이별, 그들이 품었던 사랑과 조국에 대한 연민을 함께 되새기며 하와이 이민 역사를 풀어보고자 한다.
