(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청부평도서관이 22일, 관내 특수학교인 예림학교 학생들이 직접 제작한 그림책 8종을 출판했다고 밝혔다.
부평도서관에 따르면, 이번 프로그램은 학교도서관 지원사업 ‘희망! BOOK돋움’의 일환으로, 장애학생의 창의성과 표현력을 키우기 위한 맞춤형 독서교육 활동으로 추진됐다.
지난 4월부터 예림학교 학생들은 기획, 글쓰기, 삽화 작업 등 그림책 제작 전 과정을 경험하며 작가로서의 첫걸음을 내디뎠다.
출판된 그림책은 예림학교 내 전시와 부평도서관의 ‘읽걷쓰’ 자료로 활용될 예정이다.
부평도서관 관계자는 “출판 경험이 학생들에게 큰 성취감으로 남았기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 장애 학생들의 문화예술 활동 참여를 위한 다양한 프로그램을 운영하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 해당 프로그램은 오는 9월 성동학교에서도 이어질 예정이다.

Incheon City Education Office Bupyeong Library announced on the 22nd that it published 8 picture books created by students at Yelim School, a special school in the district.
According to Bupyeong Library, this program was promoted as a customized reading education activity to foster creativity and expressiveness of disabled students as part of the school library support project 'Hope! BOOK Dotum'.
Since last April, Yelim School students have experienced the entire process of picture book production, including planning, writing, and illustration work, and have taken their first steps as authors.
The published picture books will be used for exhibitions at Yelim School and as materials for Bupyeong Library's 'Reading and Walking'.
A Bupyeong Library official said, “We hope that the publishing experience left a great sense of accomplishment for the students,” and added, “We will continue to operate various programs for disabled students to participate in cultural and artistic activities.”
Meanwhile, the program is scheduled to continue at Seongdong School in September.
