【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청은 ‘2025 한국의 말·멋·맛 나눔 사업’ 방문단이 호주 시드니에서 한국의 전통과 문화를 알린다고 25일 밝혔다.
중·고등학생 28명과 인솔 교사 6명 등 총 34명으로 꾸려진 방문단은 24일부터 오는 30일까지 5박 7일간의 일정을 소화한다.
이들은 공연과 체험 부스를 통해 한국 문화를 소개하며 현지 학생들과 어울릴 예정이다.
28일 버우드여자고등학교, 29일 홈부시남자고등학교에서는 본격적인 교류 행사가 열린다. 학생들은 K-팝 무대, 부채춤, 태권도 시범을 선보이고, 직접 준비한 한글 캘리그래피 키링 만들기, 한복 입기, 전통놀이, 한국 음식 체험 부스도 운영한다.
교실을 넘어 시드니 도심 한복판에서도 한국 문화를 알린다. 27일 마틴 플레이스, 28일 피트 스트리트 몰에서 버스킹 공연을 펼쳐 현지인들과 만난다.
시교육청은 이번 호주 방문을 시작으로 9월 미국과 우즈베키스탄에서도 학생들을 파견할 계획이다.
강은희 교육감은 “학생들이 협력과 배려를 배우며 글로벌 시민으로 성장하길 기대한다”고 말했다.

The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 25th that a delegation from the "2025 Sharing Korean Language, Style, and Taste" program will visit Sydney, Australia to promote Korean traditions and culture.
The delegation, comprised of 34 members including 28 middle and high school students and six accompanying teachers, will spend seven days and five nights from the 24th to the 30th.
They will introduce Korean culture through performances and hands-on booths and mingle with local students.
Full-fledged exchange events will be held at Burwood Girls' High School on the 28th and Homebush Boys' High School on the 29th. Students will perform K-pop, perform fan dances, and demonstrate Taekwondo. They will also create their own Korean calligraphy keychains, try on hanbok (traditional Korean clothing), participate in traditional games, and run booths to experience Korean food.
The delegation will also promote Korean culture beyond the classroom, even in the heart of Sydney's city center. They will engage with local residents through busking performances at Martin Place on the 27th and at Pitt Street Mall on the 28th.
Following this visit to Australia, the city's Board of Education plans to send students to the United States and Uzbekistan in September.
Superintendent Kang Eun-hee said, "I hope the students will learn cooperation and consideration and grow into global citizens."
