[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시 농업기술센터 강종순 소장이 2일, 창원 최대 규모의 스마트팜 농가를 찾아 첨단 기술이 적용된 방울토마토 재배 현장을 점검하고 농업인들의 의견을 청취했다.
동읍 노연리에 위치한 김자도 농가는 2ha에 달하는 거대한 유리온실에서 '더하드' 품종의 방울토마토를 재배하며, 최신 스마트팜 기술을 적극적으로 활용하고 있는 모범 사례다.
김자도 농가는 복합환경제어시스템을 도입하여 농장 전체를 통합 관리하고 있으며, 온·습도 조절부터 천장 자동 개폐, 자동 스크린, 냉난방, 관수·관비 시설, 양액 관리까지 모든 재배 환경을 자동으로 제어한다.
이를 통해 노동력을 획기적으로 줄이는 동시에, 품질 향상 및 에너지·자원 효율까지 높여 생산성을 극대화했다. 이 농가는 매년 8월에 정식을 시작해 다음 해 7월까지 연간 250~300톤의 방울토마토를 생산하고 있으며, 13명의 직원이 근무하고 있다.
