[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산경찰청 기동순찰대가 적극적인 불심검문과 추격 끝에 강력범죄 수배자를 도심 한복판에서 검거했다.
부산경찰청에 따르면, 지난 4일 해운대구 구남로 일대에서 도보 순찰 중이던 기동순찰대는 남성 3명이 담배를 피운 뒤 꽁초를 길에 무단 투기하는 장면을 발견했다. 경찰이 불심검문을 시도하자 일행 가운데 온몸에 문신이 있는 20대 남성이 갑자기 신발을 벗어 던지며 도주했다. 경찰은 약 200미터를 추격해 남성이 인근 건물로 들어가는 것을 확인하고 긴급 상황으로 판단, 경력 지원을 요청했다.
이후 출동한 지역경찰과 합동으로 건물을 수색하던 중 바닥에 남은 혈흔을 단서로 삼아 5층에서 해당 남성을 검거했다. 조사 결과 이 남성은 강력범죄(폭력행위 등 처벌에 관한 법률 위반 혐의)로 2건의 수배가 내려져 있던 인물로 확인됐다. 경찰은 “도심 한복판에서 신속하고 안전하게 검거한 것은 거동수상자에 대한 적극적인 불심검문 덕분”이라고 전했다.
앞서 지난 3일에도 기동순찰대는 범죄예방 순찰 중 주민들로부터 “항상 큰 짐을 들고 도망치듯 다니는 사람이 있다”는 제보를 토대로 수영구 광안해변로에서 B씨(40대 남성)를 붙잡았다. B씨는 차량 조회 결과 전국적으로 사기 등 10건에 수배된 자로 확인됐으며, 경찰은 2개월간 면밀히 순찰활동을 벌이다 수배자 차량을 발견해 잠복 끝에 검거했다.
부산경찰청은 "기동순찰대가 가시적 · 시민접촉형 순찰활동과 거동수상자에 대한 적극적인 불심검문, 기초질서 계도·단속활동 등으로 범죄예방적 경찰활동의 성과를 내고 있는 만큼, 지역경찰과 함께 부산시민의 평온한 일상 유지와 안전을 위해 더욱 노력하겠다"고 밝혔다.

With the support of local police officers, a search of the building was conducted. Using blood traces left on the floor as a clue, the officers located and apprehended the man on the fifth floor. Investigation revealed that the individual was wanted for two separate violent crime cases (violation of the Act on the Punishment, etc. of Acts of Violence). On the previous day, the 3rd, the Mobile Patrol Unit arrested Mr. B (a man in his 40s) on Gwangan Beach Road in Suyeong-gu during a crime prevention patrol, following a tip from residents that "there's always someone running away carrying a large load." A vehicle search confirmed that Mr. B was wanted nationwide on 10 counts of fraud. After two months of meticulous patrols, the police located the wanted man's vehicle and, after a stakeout, apprehended him.
The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency stated, “The police stated, "As the Mobile Patrol Unit is achieving results in crime prevention police activities such as visible and citizen-contact patrol activities, active stop-and-frisk of suspicious individuals, and basic order education and crackdown activities, we will work even harder with local police to maintain the peace and safety of Busan citizens."
