【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시는 준공을 앞둔 ‘문무대왕 해양역사관’의 운영 근거를 마련하기 위해 '경주시 문무대왕 해양역사관 설치 및 운영 조례안'을 제정, 오는 17일까지 입법예고에 들어갔다고 9일 밝혔다.

문무대왕 해양역사관은 신라 해양문화유산을 보존·활용하고 시민에게 역사 체험 기회를 제공하며, 해양문화관광 활성화에 기여하기 위해 건립 중인 시설이다. 경주시 동해안로 1473 일원에 조성되고 있으며, 전시실·자료실·다목적실·카페테리아 등 다양한 공간을 갖춘다.
조례안에는 역사관의 설치 목적과 기능, 관람료 체계, 개관 및 휴관일, 편의시설 운영 등 전반적인 관리 운영 사항이 담겼다.
관람료는 성인 3,000원, 청소년·군인 2,000원, 어린이 1,000원으로 책정했으며, 단체와 경주시민은 50% 할인 혜택을 받을 수 있다. 또한 국가유공자, 장애인, 6세 이하 아동, 65세 이상 어르신, 기초생활수급자 등은 무료로 관람할 수 있도록 했다.
관람 시간은 하절기(3~10월) 오전 10시부터 오후 6시까지, 동절기(11~2월)는 오전 10시부터 오후 5시까지 운영된다. 휴관일은 매주 월요일과 설·추석 당일, 1월 1일이며, 시설 보수나 안전 점검이 필요할 경우 시장이 별도로 정할 수 있다.
경주시는 입법예고 기간 시민과 관계 기관의 의견을 수렴해 조례안을 확정한 뒤 역사관 개관 준비에 속도를 낼 방침이다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “문무대왕 해양역사관은 신라 천년의 해양문화와 문무대왕의 호국정신을 기리는 상징 공간”이라며 “조례 제정을 통해 체계적인 운영 기반을 마련하고, 시민과 관광객 모두에게 사랑받는 해양역사문화 명소로 만들겠다”고 말했다.

Additionally, free admission is available to persons of national merit, persons with disabilities, children under 6, seniors over 65, and those receiving basic livelihood security.
Opening hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM during the summer (March to October) and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the winter (November to February). The museum is closed every Monday, Lunar New Year's Day, Chuseok, and January 1st. The mayor may determine additional days for facility maintenance or safety inspections.
Gyeongju City plans to gather feedback from citizens and related organizations during the legislative notice period, finalize the ordinance, and then accelerate preparations for the museum's opening.
Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young said, “The King Munmu Maritime History Museum is a symbolic space that commemorates the thousand-year-old maritime culture of Silla and King Munmu’s patriotic spirit,” adding, “We will establish a systematic operational foundation through the enactment of an ordinance and make it a maritime history and cultural attraction loved by both citizens and tourists.”
