[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 오는 22~23일까지 벡스코 제1전시장에서 아시아 창업 엑스포인 '플라이 아시아 2025(FLY ASIA 2025)'를 개최한다.
올해로 4회째를 맞는 이번 행사는 '로컬에서 혁신, 글로벌에서 스케일업(Innovate Local, Scale Global)'을 주제로, 지난해보다 두 배 이상 커진 규모로 열려 국내외 창업 관계자와 시민들의 기대를 모으고 있다.
역대 최대 규모 달성: 참가자, 투자사, 참가국 모두 증가
올해 행사는 참가자 2만 명, 14개국 참가, 180여 개 투자사가 참여해 역대 최대 규모를 기록했다. 이는 지난해 참가자 1만 5천 명, 참가국 6개국, 투자사 150여 개사에서 크게 증가했다. 특히, 세계 공동 전시 부스 참가국이 두 배 이상 늘어나며 국제 행사로서의 위상을 강화했다.
창업 생태계 완성: 신생기업-대기업-투자자 3자 연결
이번 행사는 창업 생태계의 핵심 주체들을 한자리에 모았다. 국민연금공단, 한국투자공사 등 '21개 유한책임출자자(LP)'와 네이버클라우드, 삼성중공업 등 20개 대·중견기업이 참여하여 신생기업(스타트업), 대기업, 투자자를 연결하는 3자 생태계를 구축한다. 특히, 부산 지역 최초로 '모펀드 투자쇼 '부기테크(Boogie Tech)'가 신설되어 3천억 원 규모의 미래성장벤처펀드와 연계한 투자 유치를 지원할 예정이다.
시민 참여 확대: 기술 체험부터 푸드 크라우드펀딩까지
'플라이 아시아 2025'는 일반 시민들도 창업을 쉽게 이해하고 경험할 수 있도록 다채로운 체험 프로그램을 마련했다. 주요 프로그램으로는 Z세대를 겨냥한 기술 체험존, 유명 셰프 강레오와 부산 지역 기업이 협업하는 '푸드 크라우드펀딩', 가족 단위 방문객을 위한 이벤트 등이 있다.
푸드 크라우드펀딩: 강레오 셰프와 부산 로컬 식음료(F&B) 브랜드 5곳이 협업하여 메뉴 개발부터 마케팅까지 진행하는 프로젝트이다. 방문객들은 직접 메뉴를 시식하고 펀딩에 참여하며 부산 지역 창업의 성장을 응원할 수 있다.
민간 전문가 주도: 실질적인 성과 창출 기대
올해부터는 프리미어파트너스 정성인 고문, 김기사컴퍼니 박종환 대표 등 민간 전문가로 구성된 민간운영위원회가 행사를 주도한다. 프로그램 기획 단계부터 현장 전문가가 직접 참여하여 실질적이고 혁신적인 성과를 창출할 것으로 기대된다.
박형준 시장은 "플라이 아시아 2025는 시민과 창업 생태계가 만나는 축제의 장이 될 것"이라며, "아시아 창업 도시들과의 긴밀한 연결을 통해 부산을 글로벌 창업 허브로 도약시키는 데 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

This year's event will see a record-breaking scale with 20,000 participants, 14 participating countries, and over 180 investment firms. This marks a significant increase from last year's 15,000 participants, 6 countries, and 150 investment firms. The number of countries participating in the global joint exhibition booths has more than doubled, strengthening the event's international standing.
Completing the Startup Ecosystem: A Three-Way Connection Between Startups, Corporations, and Investors
The event will bring together key players in the startup ecosystem. A total of 21 limited partners (LPs), including the National Pension Service and the Korea Investment Corporation, along with 20 large and mid-sized corporations like Naver Cloud and Samsung Heavy Industries, will participate. This creates a robust three-way ecosystem connecting startups, large corporations, and investors. A new feature this year is 'Boogie Tech,' a mother fund investment show, the first of its kind in the Busan area. It will facilitate investment pitches and networking for sub-fund managers linked to the 300 billion won Future Growth Venture Fund, aiming to attract more investment to local companies.
Increased Public Participation: From Tech Zones to Food Crowdfunding
'FLY ASIA 2025' offers a variety of hands-on programs to make the startup world more accessible to the public. Key features include a technology experience zone for Generation Z, a 'Food Crowdfunding' project in collaboration with celebrity chef Leo Kang and local Busan businesses, and family-friendly events.
Food Crowdfunding: This project brings together Chef Kang and five local food and beverage (F&B) brands to develop menus and marketing strategies. Visitors can sample the menus and participate in crowdfunding to support the growth of local startups in Busan.
Led by Private Sector Experts: Expecting Tangible Outcomes
Starting this year, a private steering committee—composed of experts such as Jung Sung-in, advisor at Premier Partners, and Park Jong-hwan, CEO of Gim-gisa Company—will lead the event's operations. Their direct involvement in program planning is expected to yield more practical and innovative results.
Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, "FLY ASIA 2025 will be a festival where the public and the startup ecosystem meet. We will dedicate our full efforts to making Busan a global startup hub by fostering strong connections with startup cities across Asia."
