[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 '제106회 전국체육대회 및 제45회 전국장애인체육대회'의 성공적인 개최를 위해 총 1만6,080명의 시민서포터즈를 최종 선발하고, 본격적인 활동에 들어갔다.
시민 7,093명·학생 8,987명으로 구성… 자발적 참여 이끌어
이번 시민서포터즈는 지난 4월부터 공개 모집을 통해 시민 7,093명, 학생 8,987명으로 구성되었으며, 부산시는 구·군별 집중 홍보, 관내 대학 및 지역 행사장 직접 방문, QR코드 배포, SNS·포스터·현수막 등 온·오프라인을 아우르는 다각적 홍보 활동을 통해 시민들의 폭넓은 관심과 자발적인 참여를 유도했다.
특히 부산시 교육청은 ‘106km 매일 걷기 챌린지’, ‘학생기자단 운영’ 등 학생 참여형 프로그램을 통해 당초 목표(8,000명)를 초과 달성하는 성과를 거뒀다. 시는 이 같은 젊은 에너지와 창의적 아이디어가 향후 역동적인 응원문화를 형성하는 데 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
사직실내체육관서 시민서포터즈 발대식 개최
부산시는 19일 오후 1시부터 사직실내체육관에서 시민서포터즈 발대식을 개최했다. 이번 발대식에는 박형준 부산시장, 안성민 시의회 의장, 김석준 부산시교육감, 장인화 부산시체육회장, 양재생 부산상공회의소 회장, 김선길 부산시장애인체육회 사무처장 등 주요 인사와 서포터즈 1,600명이 참석했다.
행사는 ▲식전공연(큰북·치어리딩 공연) ▲시도 깃발 입장 퍼포먼스 ▲어린이 치어리더단과 내빈 입장으로 분위기를 띄운 후, ▲발대식 선포 ▲위촉장 수여 ▲결의문 낭독 ▲성공 기원 카드 퍼포먼스 ▲공식 응원가를 활용한 응원 공연 등이 이어졌다. 식후 행사로는 프로 치어리더단과 함께하는 응원 페스티벌이 열려 모두가 함께 즐기는 축제의 장으로 마무리됐다.

체전 기간 경기장 응원·개폐회식 참여 등 본격 활동 예정
발대식을 기점으로 시민서포터즈는 체전 기간 ▲경기장 응원 ▲개·폐회식 참여 등 실질적인 활동에 들어가며, 부산시는 이를 위해 ‘서포터즈 활동 매뉴얼’을 제작·배포했다. 해당 매뉴얼에는 ▲복무 지침 ▲응원 방식 ▲안전 대응 요령 등이 담겼으며, 근무복(조끼)과 응원 도구도 지급된다.
시는 이번 서포터즈 운영을 통해 단순한 응원 활동을 넘어, 부산의 손님맞이 문화를 알리는 ‘응원 대사’로서 시민들이 선수단과 관람객에게 따뜻한 응원과 감동을 전할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
“응원이 곧 경기력… 질서 있는 열정 보여달라”
박형준 시장은 “시민서포터즈는 이번 대회에서 선수단과 관람객에게 힘과 감동을 전하는 주역이자, 부산을 대표하는 얼굴”이라며, “‘응원이 곧 경기력’이라는 믿음으로, 자긍심을 가지고 질서 있고 열정적인 응원으로 대회의 성공을 함께 만들어달라”고 당부했다.

The Citizen Supporters were recruited through a public call starting in April and comprise 7,093 citizens and 8,987 students. The city promoted participation through various means, including intensive promotions by district (gu/gun), visits to local universities and major events, distribution of QR codes through schools and the Office of Education, and a wide range of online and offline promotional activities such as SNS, posters, and banners.
In particular, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education exceeded its initial student supporter recruitment goal (8,000 students) by implementing creative, student-centered programs such as the ‘106km Daily Walking Challenge’ and ‘Student Reporter Team Operation’. The city expects that this youthful energy and fresh ideas will contribute to creating a more dynamic cheering culture.
Citizen Supporters Launch Ceremony held at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium
Busan City held a launch ceremony for the Citizen Supporters on September 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium. The ceremony was attended by Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon, Busan City Council Chairperson Ahn Seong-min, Busan Metropolitan Office of Education Superintendent Kim Seok-joon, Busan Sports Council President Jang In-hwa, Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Yang Jae-saeng, and Busan Disabled Sports Association Secretary-General Kim Seon-gil, along with 1,600 supporters.
The event featured ▲pre-ceremony performances (Korean traditional drumming and cheerleading), ▲flag entrance performances representing 17 cities and provinces, ▲entry of VIPs with children cheerleaders, followed by ▲launch declaration ▲appointment certificate presentation ▲pledge recital ▲success wish card performance ▲official cheer song performance. The event concluded with a cheerleading festival featuring professional cheerleading teams, creating a festive atmosphere for all participants.
Full-scale activities planned during the event period, including cheering and participation in opening/closing ceremonies
Starting from the launch ceremony, the Citizen Supporters will engage in practical activities such as ▲cheering at competition venues and ▲participating in the opening and closing ceremonies. To support this, Busan City has produced and distributed a ‘Supporter Activity Manual’ outlining ▲guidelines for duty ▲cheering methods ▲safety protocols, and has also provided supporters with uniform vests and cheering tools to ensure consistent operation.
Through this initiative, the city expects the supporters to go beyond simple cheering and act as ‘Cheering Ambassadors’ who promote Busan’s spirit of hospitality, delivering warm support and heartfelt inspiration to athletes and spectators alike.
