[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산지역 고등학생 및 교사 18명으로 구성된 해외방문단이 중국 상하이시교육위원회의 초청을 받아 오는 13일부터 17일까지 상하이를 방문할 예정이다.
시교육청은 부산 교육 교류 해외방문단이 지난달 27일 발대식을 열고 해외 주요 도시와의 성공적인 교육 교류 추진을 다짐했다고 10일 밝혔다.
부산–상하이 학생 및 교원 교류 사업은 2002년 부산시교육청과 상하이시교육위원회 간 ‘부산–상하이 교육 우호교류합의서’ 체결 이후 매년 정기적으로 추진해 왔으나, 코로나19로 그동안 중단되었다. 부산시교육청의 방문은 5년 만에 두 도시가 다시 교류의 물꼬를 트는 첫걸음이 된다.
방문단은 연천중학교 정성아 교장을 인솔단장으로, 고등학생 10명, 인솔교사 1명, 교사 6명 등 18명으로 구성되었다. 선발된 학생들은 이번 해외방문을 통해 국제적 감수성과 문화적 이해를 넓힐 기회를 갖는다.
방문단은 상하이 체류 기간 동안 ▲상하이 소재 학교 방문 및 수업 참여 ▲부산–상하이 학생 간 교류 활동 ▲역사·문화 현장 체험 등의 프로그램에 참여한다. 이를 통해 학생들은 현지 또래와 우호 관계를 맺고 세계시민으로서의 시각을 키우며, 교사들은 중국 교육의 우수사례를 배우고 부산 현장과 공유할 예정이다.
김석준 교육감은 “이번 부산 학생 및 교사 상하이 방문은 코로나19로 잠시 멈췄던 교육 교류를 5년 만에 다시 이어가는 뜻깊은 시작”라며, “앞으로도 부산-상하이 간의 초청과 방문을 통한 지속적인 교육 교류가 이루어지길 바란다”고 밝혔다.

A delegation of 18 students and teachers from Busan, South Korea, will visit Shanghai, China, from October 13 to 17 at the invitation of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced on October 10 that the overseas education exchange delegation held a departure ceremony on September 27, reaffirming their commitment to promoting successful educational exchanges with major international cities.
The Busan-Shanghai student and teacher exchange program was launched following the signing of the "Busan-Shanghai Educational Friendship and Exchange Agreement" between the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission in 2002. The program had been held regularly until it was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This visit marks the first official exchange between the two cities in five years, reopening the path for mutual cooperation.
The delegation consists of 18 members, including delegation leader Principal Jung Seong-ah of Yeoncheon Middle School, 10 high school students, 1 accompanying teacher, and 6 additional teachers. The selected students will have the opportunity to broaden their global awareness and deepen their cultural understanding through this overseas exchange.
During their stay in Shanghai, the delegation will: ▲Visit local schools and participate in classes, ▲Engage in exchange activities with Shanghai students, ▲Take part in cultural and historical field experiences.
Through these programs, the students will build friendships with their peers in Shanghai and develop a global perspective as future world citizens. Meanwhile, participating teachers will gain insights into exemplary educational practices in China and bring those experiences back to share within their schools in Busan.
Superintendent Kim Seok-jun stated, "This visit by Busan students and teachers to Shanghai marks a meaningful new beginning, resuming our educational exchanges after a five-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I hope this will lead to continued educational cooperation through reciprocal visits and invitations between Busan and Shanghai."
