[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 오는 21일 제4회 부산시 퀀텀 프런티어 포럼을 개최한다. 이번 행사는 부산시가 주최하고 부산정보산업진흥원이 주관한다.
양자 과학기술 발전 방향 모색
이날 오후 2시, 부산항국제전시컨벤션센터 컨퍼런스홀에서 개최되는 이번 포럼은 양자 과학기술을 타 산업과 연계할 방안을 모색하고, 정보 교류의 장을 통해 부산의 양자 정보기술 생태계 기반을 확산하기 위해 마련됐다. 행사는 ▲정책 소개 ▲초청 강연 ▲참석자 토론(패널 토의) 순으로 진행된다.
먼저 [국내 양자 과학기술 정책 소개] 세션에서는 ▲심주섭 과학기술정보통신부 양자혁신기술개발과장의 ‘양자 과학기술 정책 방향’ ▲김영희 한국지능정보사회진흥원 양자기술활용센터장의 ‘양자 기술 산업화 지원’ ▲이승희 부산정보산업진흥원 전문위원의 ‘부산시 양자 생태계 조성 현황 및 계획’이 발표된다.
글로벌 기업과 협력한 부산형 양자 생태계 조성
[부산시 양자 생태계 조성 사업 및 강연] 세션에서는 산·학·연·관이 함께하는 다양한 주제가 다뤄진다.
▲김민성 한국IBM 사업개발총괄 상무는 ‘양자컴퓨팅 생태계 조성: 인력 양성’을 주제로, ▲김동호 메가존클라우드㈜ 양자컴퓨팅 사업총괄 부사장은 ‘양자 기반 클라우드 초거대 인공지능(AI) 미래를 설계하다’를 발표한다.
또한 ▲제러미 우 디-웨이브(D-Wave) 수석 기술 고문은 ‘부산시, 디-웨이브 협력 방안’을, ▲정재호 연세대학교 양자사업단장은 ‘대한민국 “첫” 양자컴퓨터 이야기: 외과의사가 만난 양자컴퓨터, 암 치료의 미래’를 주제로 강연한다.
양자 생태계 발전 방향 토론
[참석자 토론(패널 토의)]에서는 ▲정진웅 동아대학교 지-램프(G-LAMP)단장이 ‘부산시 양자 생태계 조성 발전 방향’에 대해 논의하며, 좌장은 김재완 한국표준과학연구원 연구단장이 맡는다.
시민 누구나 참여 가능

부산, 양자 선도도시 도약 추진
시는 미래 산업의 게임 체인저인 양자 기술 생태계 조성을 위해 적극적인 정책을 추진 중이다.
▲부산시 양자 산업육성 기본계획 수립 ▲시-부산대 양자산업 육성 업무협약 ▲IBM·메가존클라우드 등 전문기업과 협력을 통한 인재 양성 ▲글로벌 네트워크 협력 및 산업육성 전략 수립 등 다양한 사업이 진행되고 있다.
이준승 부산시 행정부시장은 “이번 포럼을 통해 양자 협력 클러스터 조성에 한 걸음 더 다가가고, 지역 산업이 양자 시대에 걸맞게 ‘퀀텀 점프’하는 전환점을 마련할 것으로 기대한다”며 “산·학·연이 긴밀히 협력해 부산이 '양자 선도도시'로 도약할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Busan Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the 4th Busan Quantum Frontier Forum at 2:00 p.m. on October 21 at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center Conference Hall. The event is hosted by the city and organized by the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency.
Exploring Directions for Quantum Science and Technology
The forum aims to explore strategies to link quantum science and technology with various industries and to promote information exchange that will strengthen Busan’s quantum technology ecosystem.
The program will include ▲policy introduction ▲keynote speeches ▲panel discussions.
In the [Introduction of National Quantum Science and Technology Policies] session, ▲Shim Ju-seop, Director of Quantum Innovation Technology Development at the Ministry of Science and ICT, will present “Policy Directions for Quantum Science and Technology”; ▲Kim Young-hee, Head of the Quantum Technology Utilization Center at NIA, will discuss “Support for Quantum Technology Industrialization”; and ▲Lee Seung-hee, Senior Advisor at the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, will outline “Busan’s Quantum Ecosystem Status and Plans.”

Building Busan’s Quantum Ecosystem in Collaboration with Global Leaders
In the [Busan Quantum Ecosystem Development and Keynote Lectures] session, a variety of experts from academia and industry will share insights.
▲Min-sung Kim, Executive Director of IBM Korea, will give a talk on “Building the Quantum Computing Ecosystem: Nurturing Talent.” ▲Dong-ho Kim, Executive Vice President of MegazoneCloud, will present “Designing the Future of Quantum-Based Cloud and Next-Generation AI.” ▲Jeremy Woo, Senior Technical Advisor at D-Wave, will discuss “Collaboration Strategies Between Busan and D-Wave.” ▲Jae-ho Jung, Director of the Quantum Program at Yonsei University, will share “Korea’s First Quantum Computer Story: The Surgeon Who Met Quantum Computing and the Future of Cancer Treatment.”
Discussing Future Directions for Quantum Development
The [Panel Discussion] will feature ▲Jin-woong Jung, Director of G-LAMP at Dong-A University, who will introduce his research and discuss “Development Directions for Busan’s Quantum Ecosystem.”
The session will be chaired by ▲Jae-wan Kim, Research Director at the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science.
Open to All Citizens Interested in Quantum Science

Busan Pursues Leadership as a Quantum City
Busan continues to actively promote the development of its quantum technology ecosystem, considered a game-changer for future industries.
Its major initiatives include ▲establishing a master plan for quantum industry promotion ▲signing an MOU with Pusan National University to foster quantum industry growth ▲collaborating with leading companies such as IBM and MegazoneCloud for talent development ▲forming global quantum networks and strategies for industrial advancement.
Lee Jun-seung, Busan’s Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs, stated, “This forum will serve as a meaningful step toward building a Quantum Cooperation Cluster and boosting our regional industry’s competitiveness through a true ‘Quantum Leap’ in the quantum era. We will continue supporting close collaboration among academia, industry, and research institutions to make Busan a leading quantum city.”
