이동환 고양시장이 5일 일산1동과 일산2동을 연이어 방문해 주민들과 직접 소통하는 시간을 가졌다.
이번 간담회는 2022년 민선8기 출범 이후 4년째 지속되고 있는 '동 주민과의 소통간담회'의 일환으로, 원도심 지역 주민들의 생활불편을 해소하고 도시 정비 방향을 함께 논의하기 위해 마련됐다.

간담회는 각각 일산1동·일산2동 행정복지센터에서 주민 50여 명이 참석한 가운데 열렸다.
이동환 시장과 구청장, 관계 부서장이 참석해 주민들이 제안한 현안에 직접 답변하며, 지역 발전과 생활환경 개선 방안을 함께 모색했다.
주민들의 건의사항은 도시정비, 생활편의, 환경개선 등 생활밀착형 주제로 모아졌다.

일산1동에서는 노후 주거지 정비를 위한 '미래타운 관리계획' 추진현황 설명 요청을 비롯해 기찻길공원 내 화장실 설치, 새마을부녀회 김장행사 지원 확대 등 지역공동체와 생활 편의를 위한 건의가 제시됐다.
일산2동에서는 동골지하차도 투명 덮개 교체를 통한 교통안전 및 미관 개선, 산들5단지 사거리 그늘막 추가 설치 등 시민안전과 쾌적한 보행환경 조성을 위한 의견이 나왔다.

각 간담회에서는 지역사회 발전과 공동체 활성화에 기여한 주민 2명씩에게 이동환 시장이 직접 표창장을 수여하며 주민들의 헌신에 감사를 전했다.
이동환 시장은 "일산1·2동은 오랜 역사와 정주문화를 간직한 고양의 뿌리 같은 지역"이라며 "도시정비와 생활불편 해소를 균형 있게 추진해 원도심이 새롭게 활력을 얻을 수 있도록 하겠다"고 밝혔다.
고양시는 이번 일산1·2동 방문을 포함해 연말까지 44개 전 동을 순회하며 주민 의견을 듣고 시정에 반영할 계획이다.
