파주시가 '제7회 대한민국 솔라리그(K-Solar League)'에서 지자체 정책성과 부문 최우수상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.
2019년부터 매년 개최되는 '대한민국 솔라리그'는 축구 리그 방식으로 지방자치단체의 태양광 발전 성과를 겨루는 대회다.
파주시는 공공 재생에너지 직접 전력구매계약(PPA), 주민참여형 태양광 확산, RE100 교육과 소상공인 현장 자문 등 실질적인 성과를 인정받아 최우수 지자체로 선정됐다.

경기 북부 최대 기업도시인 파주시는 5천여 개 제조기업이 밀집한 지역 특성을 고려해 기업 맞춤형 RE100 지원 정책을 선제적으로 마련했다.
2024년 기초지자체 최초로 RE100 지원팀을 신설하고 「파주시 RE100 산업의 육성 및 지원 조례」를 제정해 정책의 지속성과 전문성을 확보했다.
핵심 정책은 공공 재생에너지 직접 전력구매계약(PPA)이다.
파주시는 국공유지에 조성한 발전소 전력을 관내 중소기업 9개사에 30년 장기계약으로 직접 공급하는 구조를 전국 최초로 추진하고 있다.
문산정수장 1.2MW 설비를 1호 발전소로 시작해 2026년까지 총 5MW 규모의 발전소를 다양한 국공유지에 구축할 계획이다.
이를 통해 기업은 재생에너지 수급의 가격 예측성과 조달 투명성을 확보하고, 지역은 산업 경쟁력과 전력 선택권을 동시에 얻게 된다.
