충남 당진시가 지역 산업구조 전환과 미래 모빌리티 산업 기반 강화를 위해 대규모 물류단지 조성에 나섰다.
당진시는 17일 충남도청 대회의실에서 ‘K-모빌리티 오토허브 일반물류단지 조성 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
협약식에는 오성환 당진시장, 김태흠 충남도지사, 이정환 SK렌터카 대표이사, 이정훈 K-클라비스자산운용 대표, 윤승현 민간시행사 대표 등이 참석했다.
이번 사업은 총사업비 3,839억 원 규모로, 당초 SK렌터카가 추진하던 기업혁신파크 조성사업을 물류 중심의 오토허브 개발로 전환한 것이다. 대내외 경제 여건 변화로 인해 사업이 지연되자, 당진시는 SK렌터카 및 민간자본과 협력해 새로운 방향을 모색했다.
이에 따라 SK렌터카·K-클라비스자산운용·민간시행사가 공동 출자한 특수목적법인(SPC)을 설립해 사업을 추진한다.
당진시는 사업의 안정적 추진을 위해 충남도와 협력 체계를 구축하고, 지역활성화 투자펀드 등을 활용해 재정적 건전성과 사업 안정성을 동시에 확보할 계획이다. 또한 신속한 인허가 절차 진행과 입주 기업 지원 등 적극적인 행정 지원에 나선다는 방침이다.
오성환 당진시장은 “K-모빌리티 오토허브는 당진항과 연계된 미래형 복합 물류 거점이자 국가 물류망의 핵심 축이 될 것”이라며 “사업을 통해 첨단 모빌리티 산업의 성장 기반을 마련하고, 지역경제에 활력을 불어넣겠다”고 밝혔다.
당진시에 따르면 이번 오토허브 조성사업이 완료되면 연간 8조 8천억 원의 경제적 파급효과와 약 8천 명 규모의 직·간접 고용 및 인구 유입 효과가 기대된다.
특히 연간 최대 35만 대의 모빌리티 물동량을 처리할 수 있는 물류 기반을 갖추게 돼 당진항만의 기능을 강화하고, 충남권 물류 경쟁력 제고에도 기여할 것으로 전망된다.
