【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군은 17일 맹동면 통동리 일원에서 ‘맹동 치유의 숲’ 준공식 및 걷기대회를 개최했다.
이날 준공식에는 조병옥 군수를 비롯해 군의원, 도의원, 주민 등 150여 명이 참석했으며, 새롭게 조성된 치유숲길을 직접 걷는 ‘치유숲길 걷기 행사’도 이어졌다.
맹동 치유의 숲 조성사업은 2019년 지방이양사업 공모에 선정돼, 총사업비 50억(도비 32.5억 원 포함)을 들여 맹동저수지와 함박산 일대 총면적 60ha 부지에 군민을 위한 산림휴양 공간으로 조성됐다.
주요시설로는 △산림치유문화센터 1동 △치유숲길 2km △맨발숲길 300m △전망대 2개소 등이다. 특히 산림치유문화센터에 방문객들의 건강 상태 확인을 위한 건강측정실과 자연 속에서 심신의 피로를 해소할 수 있도록 음파온열기, 편백온열돔 등 다양한 치유 장비를 갖췄다.
군은 치유의 숲 조성으로 천혜의 자연경관과 청정의 수변환경을 가진 맹동저수지 주변을 활용해 산림을 통한 치유의 기회를 제공하고, 명상과 힐링의 장을 넘어 숲속에서 지친 몸과 마음을 어루만지는 공간을 제공할 수 있게 됐다.
맹동 치유의 숲은 내년 3월부터 12월까지 시범 운영할 예정으로 군은 해당 기간 치유시설 이용료를 전액 면제해, 군민과 방문객 누구나 부담 없이 숲속 치유 프로그램을 체험할 수 있도록 할 계획이다.
예약 방법은 구축 예정인 누리집 홈페이지와 전화 예약으로 받을 예정이다.
조병옥 군수는 “맹동 치유의 숲 준공으로 주민들의 정주 여건이 한층 개선될 것으로 기대된다”며 “앞으로도 산림 복지 인프라 확충을 통해 군민들의 삶의 질 향상을 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 이번 맹동 치유의 숲 외에도 인근 지역에 국내 최초 소방전문 의료기관인 국립소방병원이 내년 6월 개원을 앞두고 있다. 이와 함께 ‘맹동저수지 둘레길 조성사업’이 내년 4월, ‘국가생태탐방로 조성사업’이 내년 12월 준공 예정으로 이 사업들이 모두 완료되면 맹동면 일원의 정주 여건이 큰 폭으로 개선될 것으로 기대된다.

Eumseong County held a completion ceremony and walking competition for the "Maengdong Healing Forest" in Tongdong-ri, Maengdong-myeon on the 17th.
