충남 태안군이 해양수산부 공모사업 2건에 잇따라 선정되며 수산자원 회복과 해양 생태계 복원 사업의 새 전기를 마련했다.
태안군은 28일 해양수산부가 발표한 ‘주꾸미 산란·서식장 조성사업’과 ‘바다숲 조성사업’ 대상지로 모두 선정돼 총 66억 원의 사업비를 확보했다고 밝혔다.
‘주꾸미 산란·서식장 조성사업’은 안정적인 산란·서식 환경을 조성해 자원량을 늘리고 어업 생산성을 높이기 위한 사업이다. 군은 내년부터 2030년까지 근흥면, 남면, 안면읍 3개 해역에 국비 15억 원을 포함한 총 30억 원을 투입한다.
산란용 인공시설물 설치와 해양폐기물 정화, 서식지 환경개선을 병행하며, 주꾸미 인입률 분석 등 과학적 모니터링으로 사업의 실효성을 높일 예정이다.
또한 산란시설물 설치 이후에는 주꾸미 모체 이식, 잠수조사, 기초환경 조사 등 체계적 관리와 평가를 지속해 해역별 생태 환경의 개선도를 확인할 계획이다.
함께 선정된 ‘바다숲 조성사업’은 동격렬비도, 병풍도, 난도 등 3개 해역을 대상으로 내년부터 2029년까지 추진된다. 총 36억 원(국비 28억 5천만 원)이 투입되는 이 사업은 갯녹음화로 황폐화된 연안의 해조류 서식 기반을 복원하고, 수산자원 생산성을 끌어올리기 위한 것이다.
태안군은 이미 지난 4월에도 동격렬비도 인근 해역이 해수부의 ‘2025년 바다숲 조성사업’ 대상으로 선정된 바 있어, 2년 연속 정부 공모에 이름을 올리는 성과를 거뒀다.
태안군은 향후 자생 해조류 모니터링과 자연석 투입, 해조류 포자 확산단지 조성 등을 통해 지역 해양생태계의 지속가능한 복원을 도모할 예정이다.
