【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군은 23일 도안창고플러스에서 먹거리통합지원센터 출하 농가 조직인 ‘증평군 먹거리 생산자 연합회’ 발대식을 열고 지역 먹거리 선순환 체계 구축을 위한 첫걸음을 내디뎠다.
발대식에는 이재영 군수를 비롯해 군의회 의원, 증평농협 조합장, 먹거리 생산자 연합회 회원 등 80여 명이 참석해 연합회 출범을 축하하고 향후 운영 방향을 논의했다.
먹거리 생산자 연합회는 군이 추진 중인 먹거리통합지원센터를 중심으로 지역농산물의 기획생산과 안정적 공급을 담당하는 통합 생산자 조직으로, 지역 농민 60명이 참여하고 있다.
개별 농가 중심의 생산 구조를 조직화해 공공급식과 로컬푸드 공급을 안정적으로 뒷받침하는 것이 핵심 역할이다.
군은 센터 조성과 함께 기획생산 체계 구축과 통합 생산자 조직화를 병행해 왔으며, 연합회는 올해 임시총회를 통해 임원 선출과 정관(안)을 마련하는 등 조직 운영을 위한 기본 틀을 갖춰왔다.
이날 행사에서는 지역 주민에게 품질 좋고 안전한 농산물을 공급하겠다는 실천강령을 낭독하며 생산자들의 공동 결의를 다졌고, 먹거리통합지원센터 조성 추진 현황과 연합회 운영계획에 대한 설명도 함께 진행됐다.
연합회 초대 회장으로 선임된 양창근 회장은 “생산자들이 힘을 모아 군민 모두가 신뢰할 수 있는 건강한 먹거리를 공급하는 것이 연합회의 역할”이라며 “지역공동체와 행정이 함께하는 민관 협치의 파트너로서 책임을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
군 관계자는 “먹거리 생산자 연합회는 증평군 먹거리 정책을 현장에서 구현하는 핵심 주체”라며“안전한 먹거리 생산을 통해 군민 건강을 지키고, 농업인의 안정적 소득 기반을 마련하는 동시에 지역 농업의 지속가능한 미래를 여는 계기가 될 것”이라고 말했다.
한편, 군은 ‘생산은 농민이, 유통은 군이’라는 공약 아래 증평읍 사곡리 일원에 먹거리통합지원센터를 조성하고 있다. 센터는 학교급식·공공급식·로컬푸드를 연계한 지역 먹거리 순환 시스템 구축을 목표로 내년 2월 준공, 상반기 개관을 앞두고 있다.
