[신년사] 대전광역시 서구의회 의장 조규식
존경하는 서구민 여러분!
새로운 한 해, 2026년 병오년이 시작되었습니다. 일상에 따뜻한 기운이 머물고, 가정마다 웃음과 안녕이 이어지기를 바랍니다.
지난 시간을 돌아보면, 우리 서구는 크고 작은 과제 앞에서 선택과 결정을 거듭해 왔습니다. 그 과정에서 서구의회가 흔들림 없이 의정활동을 이어갈 수 있었던 힘은, 언제나 의회를 지켜봐 주시고 격려해 주신 구민 여러분의 신뢰였습니다.
진심으로 감사드립니다.
서구의회는 올해도 ‘구민 중심, 현장 중심’의 약속을 더 분명히 하겠습니다. 20명의 의원은 행정의 속도보다 생활의 체감을 먼저 살피며, 주민의 불편이 어디에서 시작되는지부터 확인하겠습니다. 골목길의 안전, 대중교통과 보행 환경, 돌봄과 복지의 연결, 쾌적한 생활환경 등 구민 삶과 맞닿은 문제를 우선순위에 두고, 필요한 제도와 지원이 현실에서 작동하도록 꼼꼼히 점검하겠습니다.
또한 의회는 ‘말’보다 ‘과정’이 신뢰를 만든다는 점을 잊지 않겠습니다. 조례의 제·개정과 예산 심의, 행정사무감사 등 의회의 기본 업무를 더욱 치밀하게 수행해, 구정이 공정하고 효율적으로 추진되도록 살피겠습니다. 구민께서 맡겨주신 권한이 생활의 안전과 편익으로 돌아오도록 책임 있게 일하겠습니다.
2026년에는 소통 방식도 한층 넓히겠습니다. 주민 간담회와 현장 방문을 정례화하고, 현안은 자료와 근거에 기반해 분석하며, 토론과 연구를 통해 대안을 축적하겠습니다. 의정활동 공개 범위도 확대하여, 구민 여러분이 “의회가 무엇을 하고 있는지”를 더 쉽게 확인하실 수 있게 하겠습니다.
서구의회는 새해에도 구민의 목소리를 출발점으로 삼아, 변화를 실감할 수 있는 결과로 답하겠습니다. 변함없는 관심과 격려를 부탁드리며, 여러분의 가정에 건강과 행복이 가득하기를 기원합니다. 감사합니다.
