파주시 금촌2동이 새해를 맞아 관내 경로당을 순회 방문하며 어르신들의 안부를 살피고 운영 현황을 점검했다.

이번 방문에는 경로당 운영과 관련한 현장의 목소리를 청취하기 위한 시간도 함께 마련됐다.
이날 금촌2동은 각 경로당에 쌀 40kg씩을 전달하며 겨울철 건강관리 실태와 시설 이용 불편 사항 등을 세심히 점검했으며 이 과정에서 일부 경로당에서는 식사 준비 인력 부족 문제가 제기됐고 고령화와 자원봉사 인력 감소로 인해 점심 식사 준비와 배식에 어려움을 겪고 있다는 것이다.
한 어르신은 “직접 음식을 만들어 줄 사람이 없어 점심 준비가 부담될 때가 있다”며 “안정적으로 식사를 도와줄 인력이 필요하다”고 말했으며 또 다른 어르신들도 “식사는 경로당 생활에서 가장 중요한 부분인 만큼, 지속적인 지원이 있었으면 한다”고 의견을 보탰다.
