【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청 산하 10개 공공도서관이 2026년 봄방학을 맞아 유아와 초등학생을 위한 ‘봄방학 특별 프로그램’을 운영한다.
이번 프로그램은 도서관별 특성을 살려 문해력, 역사, 과학, 금융, 예술 등 다양한 주제로 준비됐으며, 독서와 체험을 결합한 점이 특징이다.
프로그램은 1월 말부터 2월 말까지 각 도서관별로 진행된다. 참가 신청은 해당 도서관 누리집에서 사전 접수를 통해 받으며, 선착순 또는 추첨으로 참여자를 선정한다.
대구2·28기념학생도서관은 2월 24일부터 27일까지 예비 초등학생과 초등학생을 대상으로 동화 뮤지컬 영어, 일기 쓰기, 역사 탐구, 캘리그래피 등 네 가지 프로그램을 선보인다. 국채보상운동기념도서관은 2월 23일부터 26일까지 초등 저학년을 위해 그림책 읽기와 상상력 활동, 지역 근현대사 이해 프로그램을 마련했다.
동부도서관은 보드게임과 퍼즐을 활용한 한국사 수업을 진행하며, 남부도서관에서는 초등 3~5학년을 대상으로 온책 읽기에 기반한 문해력 강화 프로그램을 준비했다. 북부도서관은 초등 1~4학년을 위한 일기 쓰기, 금융·경제 기초, 독서록 쓰기 등 맞춤형 수업을 운영한다.
서부도서관과 두류도서관도 유아와 가족, 초등학생을 위한 그림책 놀이와 창의 활동, 과학 실험, 예술·인문 체험 프로그램을 제공한다. 수성도서관은 예비 초등학생의 학교 적응을 지원하는 프로그램과 초등 3~4학년을 위한 문해력·어휘력 강화 수업을 운영한다.
달성도서관은 영유아부터 청소년까지 연령별 맞춤형 프로그램을 구성했고, 삼국유사군위도서관은 군위초등학교와 협력해 그림책을 통해 세계 문화를 배우고, 요리 체험으로 연계하는 독서 프로그램을 선보일 예정이다.
김칠구 대구2·28기념학생도서관 관장은 “아이들이 방학 동안 독서 습관과 학습 자신감을 키울 수 있도록 읽기와 체험 활동을 연계해 프로그램을 구성했다”며 “도서관에서의 경험이 새 학기 준비에도 큰 힘이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

Ten public libraries under the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education will offer a "Spring Break Special Program" for preschool and elementary school students during the 2026 spring break.

The Western Library and Duryu Library also offer picture book activities, creative activities, science experiments, and arts and humanities experiences for toddlers, families, and elementary school students. The Suseong Library offers programs to support pre-elementary school students' adjustment to school and literacy and vocabulary enrichment classes for grades 3-4.
The Dalseong Library has developed age-appropriate programs for children ranging from infants to teenagers, and the Samguk Yusa Gunwi Library, in collaboration with Gunwi Elementary School, plans to offer a reading program that explores world culture through picture books and connects it with cooking experiences.
Kim Chil-gu, director of the Daegu 2.28 Memorial Student Library, said, “We designed the program by linking reading and experiential activities so that children can develop reading habits and learning confidence during the vacation,” and added, “I hope that their experience at the library will be a great help in preparing for the new semester.”
