<브레이크뉴스 태백 = 김일웅 기자> 대한민국 태권도를 빛낼 국가대표가 고원스포츠도시 태백에서 최종 결정된다. 태백시는 오는 22일부터 28일까지 7일간 고원체육관에서 ‘2026년 태권도 국가대표 선수선발 최종대회’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
대한태권도협회, 강원특별자치도태권도협회, 태백시태권도협회가 공동 주최·주관하고 태백시와 태백시의회가 후원하는 이번 대회는 전국의 내로라하는 우수 선수와 지도자들이 총출동해 치열한 진검승부를 펼친다.
경기는 크게 겨루기와 품새 두 종목으로 나뉘어 치러진다. 22일부터 24일까지 3일간 진행되는 겨루기는 남녀 8개 체급별 토너먼트 방식으로 운영된다. 이어 25일부터 28일까지 열리는 품새 경기는 연령별 개인·복식·단체전으로 나뉘며, 선수들이 그동안 갈고닦은 최고 수준의 기량을 선보일 예정이다.
