최민호 세종시장은 24일 인공지능(AI)을 행정 전반에 과감히 접목해 업무 처리가 가장 신속한 혁신 도시로 도약해야 한다고 밝혔다.
최 시장은 이날 시청 대회의실에서 확대간부회의에서 “획기적인 발전 속도를 보이는 인공지능을 활용해 우리 을 가져와야 한다”며 이같이 말했다.
이어 “인공지능을 단순 보조 수단이 아니라 행정 혁신의 핵심도구로 활용해야 한다”며 “이를 활용해 1년이 걸리는 민원 업무를 3∼4일 만에 처리하는 행정 혁신의 역사를 세워보자”고 주문했다.
그러면서 최근 조직 구성 작업을 마치고 본격적인 출범을 앞둔 ‘가장 먼저, 가장 빠른 세종 구현 전담조직(TF)’에 대한 기대감을 드러냈다.
이번에 출범한 전담조직은 이승원 경제부시장을 단장으로, 민원 업무 인공지능 혁신팀과 신기술 발굴팀으로 구성된다.
인공지능 혁신팀은 인공지능으로 민원 처리 절차의 대폭 간소화를, 신기술 발굴팀은 시 재정을 절감할 수 있는 신기술(공법)이나 혁신제품 발굴 등을 목표로 한다.
최 시장은 “인공지능을 활용해 행정 혁신을 이루려면 업무 부담과 책임을 감수하더라도 연구하고 도전하는 조직 문화가 뒷받침돼야 한다”며 “뚜렷한 혁신 성과를 만든 직원에게는 분명한 보상을 약속하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
이와 함께 최근 산불이 전국 각지에서 발생하고 있는 만큼 산불 예방에 총력을 다할 것을 당부했다.
최 시장은 “방심하는 순간 불씨가 피어오르는 것이 산불”이라며 “읍면동과 관련 실국에서는 산불 감시에 힘쓰고, 시민들에게도 산불 예방 요령을 집중 홍보할 것”이라고 했다.
