해당 사업은 영동읍 매천리 일원에 지하 1층, 지상 3층 연면적 2,247㎡ 규모의 종합관광 안내 정보센터를 건립하는 사업으로, 관광안내 기능을 비롯해 홍보·운영 공간 등을 갖춘 복합시설로 조성될 예정이다.
특히 층별 주요 공간은 1층은 관광 안내센터·관광 홍보관, 2층은 미디어 체험관·한수원 홍보관 3층은 사무실·대회의실 등으로 구성될 계획이다.
영동군은 그동안 공공건축심의, 설계공모, 각종 용역 추진 등 사전 행정절차를 차질 없이 마무리했으며, 지난 2일 건축공사를 착공한 이후 현재까지 공정을 계획대로 추진하며 사업의 성공적인 마무리를 위해 행정력을 집중하고 있다.
